Re: Expand categories

Hi,

Just wanted to say thank you for this mod. It's easy to install, lightweight, and does it's job. While I'm no fan of Javascript (which tend to get abused by many sites) this is exactly the right way to use it rather than DB intensive queries for no reason.

Again thanks - voted a 5 for this mod.

Re: Custom Profile Fields For Admin

Am I correct in having observed that if I "hide" a profile field it stops being a required field? Is there any way to make it BOTH required at registration and hidden in the profiles afterwards?

Re: Blank template MOD

But i'm thinking about to write a add-on that you can add custom pages through the acp. I would seriously love you if you did that  The forum I run I'm the only one who can use ftp, html and php, but there are several custom pages that need regular updates. So instead of having my other admins...

Re: [REQ] Blank Page Mod with ACP interface.

I just want to add that this would be a magnificent MOD idea. A lot of people need just a few pages to go with their forum, so a full portal solution is way overkill, but needing FTP access to change those pages are also a big hassle. Also being able to set up pages using only BBCodes through the AC...

Re: [BETA] Custom BBCode Rights - v.0.0.8.d

sorry 4 confusion. the info-fields would show you the correct syntax. i will edit lang- and install-file 2 correct the info- and hurry-up-missings. thx 4 suggestion Well was as much my own fault. While the instructions could have been clearer, and the mistake in the installfile really threw me off,...

Re: [BETA] Custom BBCode Rights - v.0.0.8.d

Well I found the problem when you said it might be a bad syntax. The syntax was fine, but I had two (hence the double error) BBCodes in there with a = at the end (eg. List=) and I hadn't put the = at the end, because I didn't realize that this made a difference. In hindsight I should have, but if I ...

Re: [BETA] Custom BBCode Rights - v.0.0.8.d

The thing is the forum is only very, very lightly modded (4 I think I've added over the months). I'm not even sure any of them touch those files. If so it would by functions_display. However, there were no problems in locating the lines to replace - it seems odd that there'd be conflicts. Also I mus...

Re: [BETA] Custom BBCode Rights - v.0.0.8.d

It does, however, not work properly. I get the following error whenever a non-administrator tries to preview or post a message. My administrator account does not get the error, and it only occurs when using BBCodes (Custom or standard, restricted or not makes no difference). The message goes through...

In his defense someone wrongly posted in his thread in the support forum telling him to go here and post for support.

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.0.3 released

Just so I understand you. You would rather do code changes on 94 files than look at, via the update process, compare/merge code conflicts in 10 or 15? Have fun with that! :) No. You don't seem to understand. What I suggest is what Highway of Life actually also posted a little later in this thread (...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.0.3 released

I don't recall the developers ever saying that using the automatic update system on a heavily MODed board was easy, that resolving conflicts is always easy. How could the developers know what admins of heavily MODed boards even see at update time? The MOD possibilites for all practical purposes are...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.0.3 released

First of all thanks for the hard work on further improving phpBB. It is much appreciated. Secondly thanks for trying to make things easy with the Automatic updater, which works like a charm on most low- to mid level modded boards. It is so much better than phpBB2. I must admit though that I understa...

Re: Profile details changed????

No. I'm in fact extremely bothered by this behaviour and the apparent inability to turn it off. I run a small forum that requires admin activation to be sure only people I know register (and keep out spambots), but I don't want to have to re-activate every one of my users when they change their emai...
