Re: phpBB Smartfeed

Ah, quite understood Mark; that's also largely my hesitation in how much more to 'invest' in this mod (beyond getting it working for my most immediate needs) - the distinct possibility of those efforts being 'obsoleted' one way or the other. 'Native' rss integration in phpBB would be nice of course ...

Re: phpBB Smartfeed

A wonderful mod - thank you very much ! I suspect the install and setup might be a bit daunting for some users (maybe something to try to automate further in subsequent releases ?) - but it's well worth the effort once you you get everything sorted out. I ran into several of the challenges mentioned...

Take a look at what the board's tz is set to, as well as the individual user's.

Enjoy the day, its challenges and rewards,

As ever, that Support Request Template might be a helpful thing... For instance, if I knew you were running an Apache server, I'd suggest taking a look in your httpd.conf to see what you have set for ServerName. If you had the ip there rather than DNS name, that could explain it... Also - where is t...

As far as contacting the ISP, is it enough we don't want them on the board? He hasn't done anything illegal. He just has bad taste and behavior. We don't ban people usually, just suspend them. If this fellow is causing this much annoyance - yes, I'd contact his ISP. Maybe give him "one final warnin...

Take a look at http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=816853&highlight=#816853 for one approach. The original question there was slightly different, but the middle part : Those two changes should take care of things well enough (if you can't enter them, and not even blank lines are displayed in ...

Hm... that's not nearly enough info for us to help you out. First off - the official Support Template (listed in one of the announcements at the top of the forum) helps provide a lot of the key details. Along with that - tell us more about what's actually happening, what "symptoms" you get when... c...

Well... you already figured out the "where", which is the more phpBB-specific part... what you're after now is a more general web-programming type question, how to make it "rotate". I'd probably go with some Javascript code for that... Try some searches on google/yahoo/altavista/whatever you prefer,...

Even with all the permissions from view to poll create on the forum set to admin they could still see that there is an admin only section? Just a tip - if you want to make sure they're not seeing it, create a test account or two with no 'special privs', and take a look at what 'everybody else' is s...
