Do you mean to say that, instead of a user posting as normal...they can only use the predetermined options which are subsequently used to post a message, as per the data they input? I'm thinking that, if you open up the posting_body template and locate "textarea name="message" - instead of having a ...

Oh aye, I forgot about that. That would be sooo much easier. That said, my advice above would certainly be useful for filtering certain elements of the forum to be only available to logged-on users. Such features might be "Search", "Memberlist" or "Usergroups", for example, thus using the switch_use...

Of course, everything will be normal in the ACP, not only because the above code does not affect that but also because you would be logged in to access the ACP. Yes, you can do this with any of the templates, such as Viewtopic_body_tpl. You can also do the same with the header/footers, etc. In fact,...

Hi ther :) I couldn't tell you about any particular Mods that will suffice, but I do know this... Locate \ phpBB2\templates\subSilver\ and back up the file index_body.tpl and then open it. At the very beginning, add the following on a new line... <!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_out --> Please Log In! ...

Page/Topic Title Hack? (SEO)

Whilst I've looked around, there doesn't appear to be anything of the sort that is even similar in nature to my conception, although I appologise if this has indeed been brought up before. I wonder about the possibilities of a modification that will allow those of authority to modify a title (viewto...

It means the modder muddled up ;) What I sometimes find myself doing is having to edit the .MOD file accordingly so EasyMOD will read it correctly. I haven't come accross any problems with EM, but I do find it is only as good as the modder himself. If there's errors, EM is useless until resolved. Tr...

Maybe...but EasyMOD is still pretty darn useful  For the heavy C&CG Mods that require a lot of manual editing, using EM & phpBB would be a viable solution. You're right though, maybe someone over at a CC Forum might know about making things like EM and create something of the likes :D Cheers.

I'm not creating a program because I'm not a programmer. I'm just thinking that such a program would be a useful resource for the Modding community of this game. I wouldn't even say it's limited to C&CG...any game where one can modify files by means of a text editor can use such a program. But, for ...

You're probably right that it isn't viable...but I'm not saying images would be in one place. Each host would still have their own images. I do actually think this is browser specific though, because it's down to how they go about caching webpages. I'm thinking that instead of reading http://www.php...

Proposed Command & Conquer Mod Installer

Greetings :) I am wondering about the possibilities of creating a MOD file for the purpose of installing a MOD for Command & Conquer Generals. Its purpose is to implement the MOD without the need of having to directly alter any files, since EasyMOD would do this. Obviously, the person wishing to do ...

Hi :) I have a question totally unrelated to phpBB, to be quite frank. But it is about EasyMOD though ;) I'm thinking about Command & Conquer Generals, and whether or not something like EasyMOD could made for such a game. If you know about modding C&CG, then you know what I'm putting across, otherwi...

Universal Caching System

I'm thinking that it would be beneficial, especially to dial-up users, that all phpBB forums that have images, templates, CSS, etc...that all behold default names need only be cached once by the browser. You can visit umpteen phpBB forums in a day, with every single one having to cache exactly the s...

To illustrate on that, you don't want people inserting Javascript into their signature that redirects the page to another site when viewed. IMO, if you give a user HTML capabilities then you give them control of the webpage, if they know how and aim to exploit it. Give them HTML in their signature a...

Me too =(

Well, I just have me a completely blank config file & got no ideas as to what the hell I do with the bugger!
It wouldn't be so bad if I could at least view my forum whilst I configure it, but obviously I must do the latter firstly?
