Re: Google Free Search

Sorry, but that deviates too far from both the purpose of this MOD and my knowledge. Google AdSense code should be provided to all of its clients upon registration. In fact, don't even try to install this MOD. Just copy and paste the code provided by Google into the templates/subSilver/overall_heade...

Re: phpBB Affiliate Button

There once was one on the downloads page, but now it was taken down due to the fact that there is a new logo. I'm sure they'll get one up soon enough—likely when phpBB 3.0.0 is released.

Re: Preview doesn't show me my post?

Interestingly enough, I'm getting mixed results from another test run on IE 7. Apparently, the first time ("first time" defined as the first time after clicking the "Post reply" button) I click "Preview" for a post with a lot of lines, the browser window first jumps to the post title (here, "Preview...

Date Format Restrictions

While surfing the User Control Panel, enjoying the splendid proSilver style, I tried to set the "My date format" (Forum preferences > Edit global settings) to "r", to get an RFC 2822-formatted date. As a result, I got thrown a "TOO_SHORT_DATEFORMAT" error. Is there a reason for setting the minimum n...

Re: Preview doesn't show me my post?

IE 7 and Firefox display the preview properly. I typed random characters and copied-pasted until the length was long enough for the preview to cover the entire page, and clicked "Preview". The URL got a "#preview" and the browser window jumped down to the title of the post (here, "Preview: Re: Previ...

Strange, I actually don't see that bug in my copy or phpBB's copy. A careless mistake while installing manually, perhaps? Or the work of a spy? ;) My next objective for this MOD is using MODX, as it seems to be the future. I already have the XML file written, but I definitely need to check it just t...

I've added some screenshots of the MOD in action. They can be found in my first post in this topic, which is also the sixth post down from MOD Database Manager's.

A very nice complement to the similar AIM MOD! However, I think we should now use the term "WLM" for Windows Live Messenger, since Microsoft recently decided to re-brand its online services :) .

phpBB's pruning system, if I understand it correctly, deletes posts in the process of pruning, but does not decrement post-count/topic-count statistics.

Super Quick Reply allows registered users to choose to open the form automatically, and admins to choose to allow guests to open the form automatically.

Everyone here is talking about Notepad for windows and vi for Linux. Doesn't anyone here use Wordpad anymore? Well, I personally think that Wordpad is more oriented toward writing rich text, and isn't as suitable for code development. That's the reason why I use Notepad++; although it doesn't have ...

I bet over 90% of us MOD developers use a standard text editor like Notepad. I personally use Notepad++, because it's light-weight but has good features. I believe there are a few things you might want to check out at the MOD Development Tools page, as concluded from your very uncertain tone.

I find the articles in this Knowledge Base category very helpful. They describe phpBB's MOD standards, etc.
