Re: Name the operating systems you have used..

Oh goodness no! lol, it used the 5(ish) inch floppies ;) But you're right, everything does seem to look a lot bigger when you're that young ;) If I had to guess, I'd say it was from the late 80's.

Re: Name the operating systems you have used..

Nope, it wasn't one of those... It was white, and looked a lot like a computer from the mid to late 90's. And I guess I shouldn't say that it didn't have an OS... I just couldn't figure out how it worked! As I said, that's about all i remember of it... I was about 4 at the time.

Re: Name the operating systems you have used..

Hmmm, let's see... I think my first real experience with a computer would've been at my grandparents' house... they had an old (even at the time) machine that didn't really have an operating system... it ran on the big floppy disks, lol. I never really used it, though, because I didn't know how, so ...

Re: [RC] phpBB Gallery 1.0.3 (including TS Gallery converter)

bandrox looks like you removed the guest user from the Guest group. You need to readd him. Thank you! That took care of that problem :) Now, for my next question... when I click the "Mark Albums Read" link, I get the following SQL error... General Error SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ] [0] SQL No values specif...

Re: Display username on another page

Bump? Anyone have any ideas? I'm building this page using the "Add a blank page" mod, in case that helps... I need it so it displays the username in the page body.

Re: Display username on another page

I'm not quite sure I follow... here's my setup for this page - The file is in the forum root folder, contest.php. It includes contest_body.html, as well as the language file contest.php. I put what I want displayed in the contest_body.html file (which includes the line where it says Hello, (username...

Re: Display username on another page

Yes, I did follow those instructions ;)

Where do I add that? I added it directly to the html file, but it gives me "Hello, $user->data['username']!"

Display username on another page

Hi, Ok, here's what I'm trying to do. I'm in the process of setting up a contest on my forum, and I'm using a form for them to fill out. Here's what I'd like to have happen. I'd like to have a line of text at the top that says "Hello (username)." I want it to display the username of the person who's...

Ah, that makes more sense :)

I was confused that someone as familiar with phpBB as he was would not realize that! But that does clear it up :D

Re: Banning IP`s (known forum abuser)

Good point there. Someone who really knows what they're doing can really cause a lot of trouble for board admins ;)

Anyways, I think that the best way to stop this problem is to require that new registrations be activated by an admin ;)

Sorry, I read that and it was stuck in my head. I didn't catch where he said that he knew that the IP still worked ;)
