Snitz Forums 2000 --> PhpBB?

Does anyone have any information on converting from a Snitz Forums 2000 based message board (it is actually part of a MaxWebPortal installation using ASP-based pages)? I'd like to get this company over onto an Apache server running PhpBB and other php-based web-apps instead of ASP pages, but I've ne...

Actually, I just did a bit more digging and found out that MaxWebPortal actually uses a forum software called "Snitz Forums 2000". I've never even heard of this :roll: . Anyway, any information anyone has would still be very much appreciated.

MaxWebportal Conversion?

This might or might not be the right place to post this, so if it is in the wrong place, I apologize. My question has to do with converting the users and forum posts from a MaxWebPortal site to a phpbb site. I am probably going to be moving a company's website in-house since they have been having so...

Thanks, the "Complete Banner" mod looks like it will work perfectly for what I'm trying to do. Thanks again.

Forum-specific banners?

Does anyone know of a way to display a different banner at the top and bottom of each forum so that they fit the content? For instance, it wouldn't make sense to advertise a Chevy performance company on a Ford forum and vice-versa.

Eliminate roll-over color change in forum index?

I am in the process of modifying the Athena theme for my forum, and am having trouble getting rid of the roll-over color change when doing a mouse-over on the forum topics. I have them set to a dark grey, but when there is a mouse-over they turn white and don't change back to the original row color....

I've apparently got it worse than you then, I have no email functions whatsoever. I have the sendmail path set correctly according to phpinfo(), I've tried localhost, I've tried the 2.0.4 and 2.0.5 files, I've tried the pop.xxx.com and IP for the smtp server, I've even tried the beta files on the so...

hmm, the sendmail path is not defined in phpBB anywhere. It should use the path as set by the server. Thus, if they have sendmail installed correctly, phpBB should "find" it. What's the exact error message with sendmail ATM? Have you tried to enable SMTP + SMTP server localhost without us...

The problem is that they do have the mail() function, it just has to be referenced to '/usr/sbin/sendmail', and if it has to be referenced in php.ini, then it is sort of a catch-22 since I don't have access to that file. I was hoping that the ini_set command might help me ignore php.ini and set the ...

Do you know if there is any way to override the php.ini file in this instance? I unfortunately do not have access to php.ini since I am going with a shared hosting plan. I've emailed support to see if they are willing to implement that change, but I seriously doubt that they will. Maybe something wi...

Implementing sendmail path?

I've been having the same problem as a lot of others, with the email functions of the board nor working and reporting errors in emailer.php and smtp.php. I finally found someone at my hosting company that knew what they were talking about, and it turns out that I cannot connect to the smtp server fr...

I just visited your site and registered to test. I got the "Page cannot be displayed" after submitting the registration when it was trying to access profile.php, but when I posted a test message in your test forum it came up correctly.

I've been getting the same problem. I just checked with my hosting service and they tell me that they are using pearmail for sendmail, and gave me a path to use: "/usr/sbin/sendmail", but I am having trouble determining where exactly I should be placing this. I did not see anyplace in emai...

I was having the same problem, but that was because I was using the pop.XXX.com address for the mail server. I talked to my hosting company and they had me put in the actual IP address and that got rid of *that* error message, but now I am getting a connection timeout that points to line 111 of /www...
