Re: Google webmaster breadcrumbs problems

There are more and more people reporting the breadcrumbs issue. How soon until 3.3.1 is released to include this fix and stop the new topics on this issue?

Re: Automatic Update from 3.2.8 to 3.3.0 = is it possible?

I used Auto-update to go 3.2.8 to 3.3.0 on 4 of my forums. It is the recommended method of updating your board only in case core phpBB files have been modified. In my case I have modified a few files and took the risk. The only problem I ran into is that I had to copy the new .htaccess file back ove...

Re: Google Search Console issue

I did a 3.3.0 update yesterday and today Google sent me a warning email with the exact same issue. I don't know what the issue is, but I'm subscribing to this topic to stay in the loop.

Re: Is phpBB going to be ready for Google's rel=ugc nofollow?

Well, you could open a ticket at the tracker and see what the devs think about that. I was not aware of that process, I will look into that. There are boards where selected accounts do not have user generated content, but instead automated. Typically those accounts are called "bots" (but are unrela...

Is phpBB going to be ready for Google's rel=ugc nofollow?

I searched but didn't see an existing topic. First the background: https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2019/09/evolving-nofollow-new-ways-to-identify.html Today, we’re announcing two new link attributes that provide webmasters with additional ways to identify to Google Search the nature of particular ...

Re: [3.2][RC] Auto-Resize Images Server-side

This extension is working quite well, thanks! I've had to tweak the settings a bit here and there because people upload such big files but I think I have it optimized now?? 900px width/height restriction and 50000 bytes restriction triggers it.

Re: Fake PM Notifications

Thanks! It worked, I cleared the cache but that circle 2 disappeared! 8-)

Code: Select all

DELETE FROM `phpbb_privmsgs_to` WHERE `msg_id` = '0';

Re: Fake PM Notifications

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I may make a test copy of that table and try it there first now that I think about it.

Re: Attachment photos are eating up my hard drive space

Thanks, I have installed that to see if it helps. The weird thing here is that prior to 3.2.4 upgrade I see it was, the photos that got uploaded as attachments were automatically resized (the main photos, not thumbnails) to a maximum size. Since then they are uploaded full size. Here are my settings...

Re: Fake PM Notifications

Firstly I'd check where the messages ended up in phpbb_privmsgs, has that table also got a row with msg_id of 0? If not, can you find the msg_id of the correct row? There are no rows in phpbb_privmsgs with a msg_id of 0. Any ideas on what SQL command I can write to delete the 0 entries in phpbb_pri...

Attachment photos are eating up my hard drive space

So there was an update what maybe 6 months ago??? that disabled ImageMagick from resizing photos when they were attached (uploaded) by members. Well that's having a huge impact on my forums attachment quota. I searched but couldn't find the thread discussing this. Is there some way I can make ImageM...

Fake PM Notifications

So I've had this problem for a while now and I need help fixing it. Someone tried forwarding two PMs to me (I'm admin) and they never reached my inbox. But I do see the "2" notification circle and I can't get rid of it: two-pm.png Now if you go look in the database, you can see the entries but I can...

This is good news. I did not yet upgrade to 3.2.6 and I read about many bugs, so this will save me time!
