Re: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I started my first forum in 2001 and I had that issue. I did sooooo many edits to remove that, glad there is an easier way.

Re: Who is running MySQL 8?

What version of MySQL are you running as shown on the main ACP index page? I looked at my PHP information page in ACP and it reports the 8.1 version as well but the main index page near the top says MySQL 5.7.44

Who is running MySQL 8?

Hi I'm just wondering how many folks are running MySQL 8 here with the latest phpBB? My host wants me to upgrade from 5.7 to 8 and I can't have a test area. It seems like a few people are running MySQL 8 but I'm not seeing a lot of talk about it. Is there anything to be aware of regarding the upgrad...

Re: 3.3.11 - what is newest PHP & MySQL versions supported?

PHP 8.0, 8.1 are certainly OK. As to PHP 8.2: I know a couple of boards using it, and I've got a testboard using PHP 8.2 without any issues up to now. As to MySQL 8 ... no idea. Thanks. Automated tests pass successfully on PHP 8.2 (and PHP 8.3 for development 3.3.x branch -> upcomung v.3.3.12). Als...

Re: External login stopped working after update

Thanks for this. I have a few forums to update, one of which uses external login for another area of my site. I will test it out but can I switch the code over while still running 3.3.7 and then upgrade or do I have to do it after I update phpBB?

Re: [3.3][BETA] Human-Friendly URLs

My personal feeling is that the rel=canonical URL in the meta tags should contain this updated user friendly URL. The reason for that is that I have seen in Google results the keywords in the URL being bolded as in it may be a very slight ranking factor. Google will tend to choose the canonical URL ...

Re: [3.3][BETA] Human-Friendly URLs

I wonder how Google results show up then. Do they have the extra text or not?

Also, do you have a demo website where I can see it in action?

Re: [3.3][BETA] Human-Friendly URLs

Wow this is a fantastic idea! Minimal modification to the URL so old URLs don't stop working.

Does this change the rel=canonical link in the HTML?

Re: tapatalk questions/queries

I've used Tapatalk a few times, until I discovered a MASSIVE security breach, which the Tapatalk developers didn't fix after I brought it to their attention. The *only* benefit to TT is that it can give native notifications to users from the app. But letting anyone view any private message from/to a...

Recaptcha v3 request method - which one? POST cURL Socket?

So in the Recaptcha v3 config page you can pick the request method between POST, CURL, and SOCKET. Which one should I pick? I don't understand the differences. Is one more secure or better than the other? I will probably try each one for a few days or something but that still doesn't help me underst...
