Re: Board watch

Anyone tested the 3.0.6 upgrade? Will this break Board Watch? (Does the MOD team revalidate for new versions of MODs?)

Re: Board watch

Thanks, Alan! Your comments about message text are interesting. I agree that privacy should be the default. But in terms of what people are willing to accept, Facebook shows that people tend to like the message text by default. For phpBB, I would worry more that the msg text in email would keep peop...

Re: Board watch

Oh, one more question. Is there a very-best-recommendation for some MOD that will send the message in email as well (or better, the first N characters)? I looked around, but I found the choices too confusing. (This should be a core feature, imho.)
Thanks!

Re: Board watch

Thanks, Alan. I see, too, that you mention this in, like, the third post in the thread....

I'm up and working now, so thanks! Already a couple of people are happy for the change (and one freaked out.)

Re: Board watch

Thanks, Alan. But hey, I'm having another problem. I'm unable to get to the module to unwatch a topic. I've double checked my edits to the other modules and no solution jumps out at me. Here's the URL http://richmondannex.com/share/ucp.php?i=boardwatch&mode=boardwatch And error "General Err...

Re: Board watch

Yeesh! I made three errors modifying things by hand. (All were cases where I replaced the whole line rather than adding before or after.) It now works without an error, so thanks! I'm (clearly) new to phpBB Mods. There is something I can use to make these kinds of file changes automatically? The who...

Re: Board watch

Interestingly, Board Watch just sent me an update for the message. So I guess something went right.

If this adds any info: When I follow the emailed link to notification settings for boardwatch, I get an error: "General Error
Module not accessible"

Thanks,
Tim

Re: How to make email subscription shows additional detail

I, too, am hoping to include the message text in emails notifying subscribers. I looked all through the MOD database without luck. Can anyone steer us in the right direction? Also, does anyone know of a mod that will let a forum behave like a mailing list so that messages posted to the forum are sen...

Re: default "Notify me when a reply is posted"

I agree with Ryan; it seems like having an ACP way of sending e-mails by default (with user opt-out) could really help start small boards (with no advertising budget). Has anyone here tried the Board Watch mod? I'm confused about whether it (or forum watch/topic watch -- are these other mods?) provi...

Re: [BETA] Invite A Friend 0.5.1

I tried the test on your site, but I never received an email invite. I'm curious to know what that looks like before trying it on my board. Also, I didn't see the part about giving a registration key; I'd love to be able to hand out a piece of paper or postcard (to actual living people) that lets th...
