Re: Forum Order

I am not adverse to trying things in the database itself. Is there any documentation on the left and right ids that I can look at to see what I could experiment with? The 'parent id' field is also a mystery. Any pointers on the contents of that field?

Re: Forum Order

If your forum tree is messed up, you could try moving all the forums to the top and then resetting their parents. Go into Manage Forums for each forum, and set their Parent to "No parent". Then once the all display properly on the index, put them back where they belong. Will give that som...

Re: Forum Order

I'm out of ideas if that did not work. I would suggest that you restore the backup that you made before you started this (you did make a backup didn't you?) Yup, testing on a staging version of the forum. :D Problem is the 'corruption' exists on the live site - ie cannot modify any forum setup on t...

Re: Forum Order

Ok, started at the top, clicked recursively on every level. The resynch process ran for each category and forum, and still no change at all.

Re: Forum Order

Thanks David. Appreciate the help. Would one have to do every single line item at every level? Asking as I have quite a number.

Re: Forum Order

100% - know where to find it - just not sure if it has any bearing on the order of forums. The documentation seems to suggest it looks after stats only.

(BTW mine are orange as in here: https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3 ... ms_manage/ )

Re: Forum Order

Have tried cache then synch and the other way around.

Is there any documentaion on the resynchronize? The info I have found suggests it only affects the statistic counters and last post info. Just dont want to concentrate on a function that may have no impact on the problem.

Forum Order

Have been doing some maintenance on our forums and deleted a few with their posts. Where the forum was a type category - did select the option to delete all sub forums with posts. This seems to have messed up something as now my forum order is corrupt. If I view the order in the ACP - it is 100% cor...

Re: [3.2][3.3][RC] Thanks for posts (and optional Tapatalk integration)

Thank you for a great mod. Been using it live for a while now with no hassles. Busy updating to latest version.

Referring to this post viewtopic.php?p=14996171#p14996171, are these instructions for the text change from 'Thanks' to 'Like', still current and valid?

Re: Is my forum being scraped?

Resolved my last issue by blocking China outright.

Now getting attacked by 17.58.100.* and a few other in that 17.58. range. Those resolve to Apple Inc. Around about 400 guests presently. Any thoughts on this?

Re: Is my forum being scraped?

I tried blocking China, but ended up with too many mails from legit forumites on layovers. Guess that's what you end up with on a forum for Pilots. They end up all over the globe.

Re: Is my forum being scraped?

When you mention bad bots, are we just talking from a sense they ignore the robots file, or that they are up to no good in indexing your site.
ie is there a downside to being indexed if it is not affecting your sites response times and performance?
