Why don't they just make it automatically set the cookies correctly? They need an autodetect function - if it really is just a configuration issue like you say, then why don't they make it POSSIBLE for people to find the right setting?

I have had problems with it on damn near every PHPBB forum I've ever used. At least 9 out of 10.

I know the PHPBB crew refuses to acknowledge it as such, but I'm as convinced as ever that no matter what they choose to call it, this is nothing but a big fat ugly bug. Turns out it's not just happening to that one user - seems to be completely random and intermittent.

WTF could be causing this? Can anyone help out here?

There are no duplicate user_id entries in the database either. All is normal as far as I can tell.
