Re: Discuss: phpBB to ship with VigLink extension

That still does not answer why it has to be included in the package in the first place. If we have a choice, which it seems with this we do not, why does phpbb insist on bundling it? To remove it causes unnecessary work for the admin team. As far as underhanded goes, yes, it is underhanded as forum ...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.0-RC2 Released

@Thunderer There is a lengthy discussion about VigLink here Just one misconception you have with with adverts - VigLink does not add any adverts, it is a referral system. More to the point, can it be deleted from the filesystem and database (if it is included)? Yes it can be disabled, data deleted ...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.0-RC2 Released

Question: Why on earth, as end users of the phpbb software, should we have to put up with an extension being bundled with the forum that some of us (myself included) want nothing to do with? Why can it not be a standalone, choose-to-install-it-yourself extension? More to the point, can it be deleted...

Re: [RC] phpBB3 Social Network 0.6.2

@Thunderer, the IM has been completely rewritten in the next version and also the mainpage has been renamed. The next version is still under heavy testing since this mod is never released if it's not stable. AAhhhh, thats some good news :) Any hint as to the new name for "mainpage"? Activity Page, ...

Re: [RC] phpBB3 Social Network 0.6.2

@ iNomadz It installed under automod for me without issue if that's what you wanted to know. System seems stable on a heavy modded board, I would just like the chat to be working, a different "Main Page", not to mention a different "mainpage" name.......... Other than those little "moans", It's fant...

Re: [Dev] Terms Mod

OK, I have been working on this since my last post and I am still no nearer to pulling the "Terms" from the UCP for editing in the ACP, on top of that and despite reading what seems like reams of pages of data, I am still no closer to getting the actual ACP module written. I am so stuck, it's like I...

Re: [Dev] Terms Mod

Oh I understand that fully, I just don't like to push the package while it is incomplete...... There is still the ACP side to complete before I contemplate compiling it all into an "automod" package, which is where I have hit a brick wall. I have to work out how to include the option of editing the ...

Re: [Dev] Terms Mod

I'm still stuck on this..... I have looked at a few things, but none of it makes any sense o me, nor can I work out how to call the board name & url successfully. I really want to get this sorted. Looks like, since I am not getting any tips on where to look, or advice, that the phpbb DEV's want me t...

Re: [Dev] Terms Mod

Ok, so I have been working on this a little and have the following for the ACP, based on the page linked to above by "unknown bliss". root/adm/style/acp_terms.php (I will resolve the full content once I know how to include the intended content) <!-- INCLUDE overall_header.html --> ACP TERMS MOD CONT...

Re: [Dev] Terms Mod

aaah, I see. I have that on my desk, but I really don't see a point to it until I actually get to a stage where I am happy enough with what I have to package it for "testing" on a pc / laptop (I.E non- internet) based server system running a phpbb forum. I'm beavering away on i, I just need to get t...

Need help with adding ACP module for Terms MOD

Well, the simplest way to put this, is that I have a MOD I am now reworking to include an ACP module as it has been recommended by the MOD team (amongst other things). It has also been suggested that the terms of service used within the UCP lang file be used. Problem: I have no Idea how to do this. ...

Re: Installig a "No Right Click"

oh those old tricks (and yes, there are more than a "Couple" of other tricks).....................

I thought you meant there were other ways around stopping the right click.

I tried the script in the overall header, but it does not seem to work.........back to square one methinks....
