Is there some strange mail server disease going around? I've got the same exact problem. I've had my forum mail working with smtp mail server for months (Apache server) , no problems. Late last night it stopped working and I'm getting all sorts of error messages like this: Could not connect to smtp ...

.............. Could a pruning job have caused this? Do you have that enabled? And if you do, who has permission (Admin, Moderator?) to prune or is it on automatic? Did you do a pruning before you went to bed last night? Went to your site and the member profiles show a post count, but when you hit ...

Donnie-D, try this IP Logger by Darlantan. It will help ID any and all that enter your site, member and anonymous users. You could use the search feature to narrow down his various IPs' and just ban within that range. The Logger has a Whois lookup that could further help ID the user. http://www.phpb...

webbuilder, did you first look in your phpbb database tables (phpmyadmin) to see if the posts and posts texts (and other tables) are still there? And do they have data in them? If they are, then maybe there is another problem. But if you think your board has been compromised, then follow tazman998s'...

golddust, Try this Mod. I've installed it on my forum ( phpBB2.0.8 ), and it works like a charm. It should work with phpBB2.0.6 too) http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=16917&highlight=codecrush+ip+log As always, be sure to back up any original files affected by this Mod in case you have a pr...

netclectic, thanks for the Mod. It's just what I was looking for. I manually edited the files (I have phpBB_2.0.8 ) and had no problems at all. I used it to move a Category I call "Archived Files". I just placed a link for this category on the overall_header, and it opens in a new window, thereby ma...

Re: Backing Up Tables

I tried running a backup of my database, and including the posts and posts_text tables, but it's not working. The full-backup works, but I don't know what to put in to include the tables. They're called: phpbb_posts_table phpbb_posts_text_table What do I put in for the backup to include these? I'm ...

DJ Gecko, Well, you have non posters (sign up, then never post)and then you have inactive members (sign up, then never even visit the forum again. Some people just like to see their name on a list). It may also be a language problem. Offer to install a language Pack for them if it would help. I've t...

DJ Gecko,
Not sure if there is a Mod for that. You'd have to search.
Are you having a problem with “non posters”? People who join, but don’t post anything, or that only post once in a blue moon.

Try this. It will hide the Memberlist, Usergroup and Member Profile from non members. As always, back up the original files prior to making changes. I did not write this Mod, Found it in one of my searches, but I can't remember the author. Works with phpBB 2.0.6 Files to edit: includes/usercp_viewpr...

Try this:

Installed it and it works nicely on phpBB2.0.6
Make sure you follow the instructions carefully, AND always backup any existing file that has to be edited.

the tpl files are also text files, why go to all that trouble, just open them with notepad or whatever you want and edit them then upload them using ftp. luck, robert Because editing the .tpl's in Frontpages' "wysiwyg", you can see exactly what the page will look like (table structure, etc.). And i...
