Re: VERY fresh install - blank screen

SUCCESS.
excellent. thanks for this.
I've now got the big red 'permissions warning'. I guess that's the end of the install so I just need to lose the install folder and i'm good to go.
thx again

Re: VERY fresh install - blank screen

It didn't no. Even when I renamed 'install'.
I've just deleted the new folders, replaced them with fresh and all ok.

So shall i upload folder contents into correct folders and see what happens? That'll prevent any possbility of an overwrite.

I'll report back in 2 mins.

thx. appreciate your help

VERY fresh install - blank screen

Installed PHPBB3 latest. Downloaded and uploaded contents of Automod root folder, overwriting as necessary using Transmit FTP. No upload errors. When I go to <board>/install - completely blank screen; no errors, no code in source. So i try /install/index.php - same (obvs). This is madness - I've onl...

Re: Newly Registered Users group

Thanks, Kevin. As you know, the default is 5; it was changed to 3 a couple of months ago but chances are that noone's ever got to 3 - I tend to keep an eye on it and remove them manually as soon as I know they're human.
Ill test it with a test user anyway. Thanks again

Newly Registered Users group

Should I need to remove new users from this group once they've reached the number of posts I've set up in the 'new member post limit' field? I assumed they'd be removed automatically, but I've set the limit to 3 and just seen a member of that group with 5 posts. I removed them manually so no harm do...

TWO of each activation email request

Hi - l've configured my board to require Admin activation for new registrations. I'm also using CAPTCHA.

Registration is working ok, but each time a new user registers I get TWO emails telling me about it/asking for activation.

Anyone know what gives?

I'm using latest version, btw.

Duplicate Registration Emails to admin

Each time the board sends me (admin) an email re a new registration, it sends a duplicate!!

I've even changed the email address it uses in the config section - I still get two.

I've just upgraded to the latest version; it still happens.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Des....but no difference. Interesting: when the page loads I get the 'image' icon but it's then replaced with....nothing. When I use Firefox to look for Broken Images, this is what it finds: http://chorlton.co.uk/Talk/profile.php?mode=confirm&id=8148da2ba2197028dc527244cca9b7a9 does this help?

I've set my board to require 'admin' approval but I'm not prepared to use 'visual confirmation' because it's inaccessible to so many people . How have you come to that conclusion? I'm not following you. It's inaccessible to people who are blind or who have low vision. Refer to http://www.w3.org/TR/...

I'm also having loads of 'spam' registrations. I've set my board to require 'admin' approval but I'm not prepared to use 'visual confirmation' because it's inaccessible to so many people. Anyway - I've got a question about Wo1f's code: currently, I get an email giving me the name of the new registra...
