The update_to_latest.php also optimises your database so the database size will be smaller so you might see some performance gain in that. You could also try using gzip compression as that will compress the sent html and will use less bandwidth on the server and might see an increase in performance....

Your probably best modding subMerge instead of subsilver otherwise you would have lots of work ahead of you trying to mix the two of them. Have you got MSN or some other contact info as I'd be able to help you easier if we talked in person, my contact info is listed under my profile.

Have you got a link to subMerge? I can't seem to find it on Google otherwise i'm a bit tired lol. Firstly you should upgrade your forum to 2.0.16 due to security reasons that have been found in the last few months. You might have some problems modifying the style if its based upon subsilver, as you'...

This has happened to me a few times. How big was the database file? If it's usually over 2mb it can cause problems uploading from your browser. Bigdump is handy in situations where the file is quite large. http://www.ozerov.de/bigdump.php If you set your database name, user, password and the file na...

You need to check that HTML is enabled on the forum board as well as your own profile. You also need to check that the tags you are trying to use are listed under Allowed HTML tags in General Admin ---> Configuration otherwise they won't be parsed by phpBB. Hope that helps :) .

Well even though it's not phpBB I might be able to point you in the right direction. http://www.phpbuilder.com/ seems to be a better place to discuss this as that would certainly have ways to interact with a database and post new data with a form. Be best posting there as you would get a better resp...

Any boards that you want strictly private and outside normal users grasp is the private permission which requires strict access to an account so it can be accessed (for example permissions on a usergroup allowing to view that forum or manually done on an account). Anubis' method just makes it so if ...

Could I have a link to your board? I'll see if it's a problem in a stylesheet or something. This is going by memory but in the style admin management section of a selected style the last 3 #xxxxxx codes are the colours for admins, mods and users (in order). You could try changing that just remember ...

Sounds like the config file isnt there, try exporting the style in admin and see if that clears the error. If that doesent work I'll register on your board and try and find the problem.

In relation to the IP ban of *.*.*.*, I've never seen this occur on a board (yet) and not sure if it works. If it does then the forum board would be unacessible to everyone (including admins and mods) but if your the main admin you should have access to the database. You would need to get rid of the...

Is this a local server or just a normal web server? Sounds like the database has been corrupted by something not necessarily a virus. If however the server is local and you were infected with a virus it's possible that caused the problem. If the database is corrupted open the sql backup file in word...
