Re: Big problem when upgrading to 3.0.8 - Help?

Right, all done! I was getting a time-out on tryng to update the forum files to 3.0.8 now, though the database updated fine. It was timing out between files 25 and 50. I copied over pretty much all the files from the fresh copy of 3.0.8 (minus the avatar and smilies folder, and the config.php) and r...

Re: Big problem when upgrading to 3.0.8 - Help?

Okay, the old version of the forum (3.0.7-PL1) is working. Now I need to know a way to update it to 3.0.8 without getting a server timeout error. Also, what other method can I use to do backups other than the built in function?

Re: Big problem when upgrading to 3.0.8 - Help?

Well, after a few phone calls I've managed to get a .dump file backup of the database from the night before all the fun started. I'm currently uploading the backed up files to the webserver to test it to see if it's all there (I'll upload the SQL data to the database using bigdump again). Let's see ...

Re: Big problem when upgrading to 3.0.8 - Help?

Thanks. I'm really really keeping my fingers crossed they do. I know that at least with a proper database backup I can restore everything - that'd be great in itself. So I take it there's no way to rebuild the database from what I have (as it seems the posts are there - the file is big enough for th...

Re: Big problem when upgrading to 3.0.8 - Help?

Truely odd. The index page shows this for all the forum sections (this is just a few of them): http://www.borealis.me.uk/mk1club/frontpage.png But go into the forum and you get this: http://www.borealis.me.uk/mk1club/frontpage2.png This is whether you're logged in or not. Edit: Sorry, they've been c...

Re: Big problem when upgrading to 3.0.8 - Help?

This is one of the problems, and how I worked out that the file seems incomplete at first. It's downloaded as a .gz file. When I try to unzip it (using gunzip on linux & Mac Unix - same result each time) I get an error due to "unexpected end of file". Stuffit Expander on the Mac just hangs. So I don...

Re: Big problem when upgrading to 3.0.8 - Help?

Yeah, I know. With no mods, the update really ought to have been straight-forward which is why I decided to do it this afternoon. The only mods (minimal, but they were for the forum header) were needed to the style pages, which I did myself (and can't be related to this problem). I shouldn't have de...

Re: Big problem when upgrading to 3.0.8 - Help?

Incidentally I should add I tested the upgrade on my test forum beforehand (which is identical to the main one except there are only a handful of posts there) and everything went smoothly. It's with the same host, but different package & domain, etc.

Re: Milky Way RED

Hi, I'm running Milky Way Red on a forum which is running phpBB 3.0.4 (so all up to date). I've had complaints from members who use Internet Explorer 7 (I use a Mac & Linux so cannot confirm) that the breadcrumbs at the top of pages do not work properly. I've tried making some modifications to fix i...
