Re: auto-logoff time setting

Oh, never mind, I just found the 'load settings' tab in the acp menu. If I set this to two hours or so, is there any security problems associated with it because I have set this up for a long time? I'm guessing the it can be a potential problem if the user forgets to manually click 'logout' and just...

auto-logoff time setting

I run a forum where users tend to post long thought out posts, and by the way they finish posting, they are logged out, and since phpbb lacks the function where if you press 'back' on your history the cookie has saved your text entry, the user's post draft is lost and the user has to type everything...

Re: How are mods implemented into the core phpbb software?

If the development team thinks a feature should be included, I believe they come up with their own implementation if it (a developer can confrim this). This really has changed a bit lately. The 3.0.6 atom feeds feature was to some extent based on an RSS MOD by leviatan21. And for phpBB 3.1 it is po...

How are mods implemented into the core phpbb software?

I was compaing phpbb with smf and read that smf has a tendency to implement more of its user developed mods into the main software. I was googling how the implementation process worked in phpbb and came up with this blog post ( http://blog.phpbb.com/2008/11/29/q_a_with_the_mod_team/ ) explaining it ...

What mod allows live, inpost, editing?

phpbb3 uses this too, where I can click the edit button and I can edit posts live without it taking me to the post editor page. Is this a setting I can change in the admin control panel?

Re: Users accidentally deleted. Any way to restore using fil

meh, it wasn't too important.

anyhow, when you say there was no retrieval option for this mod, it means that the mod permanently deleted the users details from the core of the phpbb database right? So basically my backed up config.php file is useless.

Users accidentally deleted. Any way to restore using files?

I kept all the posts but while using the mod (validated) Advanced Double Activation Pack mod (the auto user prune feature from this mod) I deleted a good portion of users that had less than 9 posts and were inactive in the past 30 days. (The mod was installed correctly - so all fault is mine) is the...

Hosting account and giving someone founder admin privelege

I have a friend that co-runs a forum with me and since he doesn't really know how to use the admin control panel that well, I set up a fresh forum and gave him a founder admin account. (on the same website but different subdirectory than the main forum - and a fresh new database as well) I have host...

thanks, ya, after further playing with the code I'm sort of understanding how it works. Just wasn't the specific folder link I was looking in.

Re: what does "{L_QUOTE}" mean?

I'm trying to install the thank-post mod onto my forum using the skin absolution (prosilver based). The difficulty i'm facing is that in the page where you view the posts of the topics, and more specifically the control panel in each individual post where the buttons for "post-reply", "quote", "repo...
