Re: update files successful, database unsuccessful

Ok, so I'm trying to import the database onto a MAMP local install,
I get a phpmyadmin error before the import completes:

Code: Select all

Error
SQL query:

--
-- Table structure for table `phpbb3_acl_groups`
--

DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `phpbb3_acl_groups`

MySQL said:

#1046 - No database selected
Any ideas?

So am I then copying the result back to the live machine? I don't quite understand why I can't just do those proce...

Re: update files successful, database unsuccessful

Have you tried purging the ACP cache after using the CLI to update the database? Yes. What's the size for your database (and the size of your search tables). How long did the process take? Did you effectively see every migration being processed? Could you try an upgrade to 3.3.1? (or even just an u...

Re: Incomplete database update

Wordpress wants php7.3 minimum these days, so I'll give 3.3.0 a try. Any idea when 3.3.1 is due, just to be on the safe side?

Re: SQL error when logged in

It is not a phpBB problem, but your mysql service is not being able to write to /tmp. It has no relation at all to phpBB's cache. I think you've solved it, /tmp was not 777 in sub-directories, so I ran chmod -R 777 /tmp and that fixed it. Bit concerned that's quite a security risk though :? Either ...

Re: SQL error when logged in

The /tmp directory is 777 so that shouldn't be a problem, but there's nothing in there that has been written by phpbb, nor by www-data (apache).

The /cache has been written to yesterday and before, but there are NO files of the type:

cache.viewtopic_body.html.php
