I too am having a VERY similar problem. I have made 2 db backups. One via the built in backup facility in phpbb (which is 67Megs in total), and I also have a 47 Meg phpMyAdmin SQL backup as well. I am trying to move the back up from one server to another which have competely different database names...

Also, unrelated, but I think it would be wise for you to change the default selected radio button of the Date Criteria from "All Posts" !!!! The combination of "All Users" and "All Dates" is can very easily lead to accidental loss of all posts, I've come very close to doing so myself! Force the adm...

your board may be generating post and therefore when you try to go to other PC, it has different size...there is alot of factor to look into this problem. maybe you can try using phpmyadmin provided by your host(if have) to backup the database. regards, tanfwc Thanks for that suggestion. I'll certainly look into it.
