How about a feature where if you were viewing a topic, it automaticly updates if someone makes a new post (without refreshing)? Now, there's a small problem with this idea. The most sensible way to do this would to send a request to the server every so often to update the page. Good idea, but could...

I think a nice lil feature would be to allow for different custom group types. Each type could have its own customised set of profile fields etc. This would allow for things such as society pages, band profiles etc.

Hey again All three of the tables you mentioned were there so I tried re-exporting them using the phpBB DB backup script but it didn't fix the problem. Instead, I connected to my old server using SQLyog and exported the data as batch scripts - for some reason, this did work. My old phpBB was version...

Missing Posts

Hey (I tried to send this a while ago but it TO'd, I checked it didn't post and can't see it anywhere, but sorry if this is a double post!) I've just moved my phpBB DB to a new server, however all the actual posts seem to be missing. The post counts are correct, the latest posts in each forum appear...

Missing Posts

Hey I've just transferred my phpBB over to a new server. Everything was fine and dandy and I didn't notice any problems until I went to view the posts. The posts all appear to be there until I go into the forums. No threads are listed in the forums. Also, if I try to go to the topic listed on the fo...

Multiple phpBB installations, single User DB

Hey people I was wondering if anyone knew how I could cause multiple installations of phpBB to work off the one user database. I had the idea of simply having everything in the same database but having each installation use a separate table prefix then replacing the variable for the table prefix in ...

separating backend from frontend

Hey It's generally accepted that it is good coding practice to keep server-side or backend code separate from the user-interface, client-side code. Doing this not only enables designers to work easily with the client-side without worrying about the server-side and for coders, vice-versa. It also red...

[ABD] Band Profiles

Hey People For a while I've been working on a band list/profile system. Sadly, I've never managed to make it work correctly - uploads just plain don't happen - and I have no time to try and fix it. If anyone's interested in working on it, you can download what I've done so far here . It's nothing sp...

Oops, sorry about that. I thought that the Dev forum would have been most appropriate since I'm actually planning on developing it myself and was just looking for interest etc.

Cheers though mate 8)

[concept] zMP3ree Port

Hey People As you may know, I recently attempted to write a bandlist mod. I made a very basic prototype but it wasn't anything compared to the likes of Funender.com and couldn't provide the functionality provided by such commercial products as Jamroom. So, I decided to have a look for some inspirati...

Sorry I took so long to reply, my ISP has been down :( That sounds like a sensible idea, I'll fiddle sometime this week.

Thanks 8)

Hey I've had a go sticking this on my FreeBSD box to no avail. I though it may have been the fact that I'm running it on my WinXP dev machine. I've tried doing things like setting attribs and permissions, fiddeling with my php config file and, of course, trying different PHPBB configs and installs. ...

Hey

That's basically what I'm trying to develop at the moment. I'm having major problems though (hint hint ;)). I've started a thread on it in the MOD Author Support forum here.

Band List: several problems...

Hey people I've been working on a Band List or Musician Profile or whatever you'd like to call it. I've been having a few problems however and they've been pretty big ones at that... The one that I can't fix at the moment is concerned with the uploading of th artists song or picture. Basically, they...
