Re: Clone Post (Not: topic)

... Cloning a post isn't exactly what I would call a absolutely necessary or basic feature (even though I do it regularly)... It is absolutely necessary and was fully functional in our forum since 2003! We often have to create new topics by taking parts from existing postings within large topics, i...

Re: Clone Post (Not: topic)

Hi all, A (rough) year has gone, my board is on 3.3.2 now and there's still no way in sight to clone a single posting. Additionally the fore mentioned Ext. is definetly outdated by now: ... However, once the changeposttime extension (by javiexin) becomes outdated (author died, RIP) and does no...

Re: How to search for posts made from a specific IP

There are ever more human spammers who disguise as normal forum members and some work as a Q&A-Team to post spam links. In this context, an inbuilt function to search for posts from a specific IP would really help to identify spammers. Is there any reason why that has not been integrated yet, or...

Re: Clone Post (Not: topic)

Well, I kept fiddling with the clone topic feature, but... ... no matter how much routine I get with this clumsy work around to simply clone a posting , it keeps to suck in a big way. So I want to ask once more and put some hope in kinerty to maybe realize this basic board function. Thank you As a ...

Re: Clone Post (Not: topic)

... What I would need in this case is a mutation. 8-) I had to laugh right away, but wanted to wait for kinerity's return to document it here. And the next day, I noticed your mutation to Junior EV, congrats! Well, I kept fiddling with the clone topic feature, but it's a pain in the neck if you jus...

So am I. I would have a good use of a calendar feature in my board.
The ext mentioned above seems not to be ported to 3.3 - and it seemingly had no group permission settings.

Mandatory intro-topic

What I'd like to finally achieve in our board, is that every board member has started one (and only one) topic in a specific "intro-forum" as his "intro-topic". And that the URL of this "intro-topic" is displayed below his signature space. So far, I use the newly regist...

Re: Open board's search results page in new tab

Yes, each browser has the option of focus change in settings. I usually switch it off as not to stare on a slow loading page. The funky workaround is admirable, but way above the limits of my comprehension. Thank you all for your valued input, as far as i'm concerned, this theme deserves a big hook ...

Re: Open board's search result page in new tab

Your trick indeed pointed me to the suspected line and when I heroically changed the code the ways I thought plausible, I either saw no effect or an parse error message. The code without effect (no new tab) reads: 'S_SEARCHBOX_ACTION' => append_sid("{$phpbb_root_path}search.$phpEx",'target...

Re: Open links in new tab

Actually, the elonw is quite transparent and you could edit it to cancel the check for internal inks... My wish is foremost to have selectively the search result page of phpBB-search opened in a new tab as it would ease my workflow considerably. (I couldn't add this condition to elonw myself.) For ...

Re: Open board's search result page in new tab

That's a valued hint- and still a brainteaser for me, who has nearly no other experience with code than modding code snippets following instructions and trying to understand what it does with common sense and occasional punctual researches some 10 years ago. But I appreciate the challenge and can un...

Re: [url]-BBcode renders wrong URIs - wrong htaccess ?

Well that's really good news for me, thank you very much! I stumbled over this because webmastertools indicated a few dozen URIs producing server errors in my board - and they were all generated by the mentioned use of the url-tag. I then found https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=2373491...

Re: [url]-BBcode renders wrong URIs - wrong htaccess ?

I switched to SSL same time as upgrading from phpBB2 a few weeks ago. So I have several, all more or less flawed- but none that surely works correctly with the [ url ] tag. :(
