Re: Attachments settings in the ACP

Under Edit -> Settings -> Transfers -> File Types, make sure it's set to ASCII under Default transfer types and uncheck the "treat files without extension as ASCII file" (prevents future problems with image attachments).

Re: Attachments settings in the ACP

What FTP program are you using? Are you sure it's uploading the file in ASCII mode?

People WILL die because they will inject or drink cleaning fluid thinking it'll make them safe. *Citation needed. Have any? Not a citation, but why would news outlets put out articles like this if they didn't think there was some idiot who would take the president's remarks as gospel? Doctors urge ...

Re: View counts out of control

Apart from bots (unlikely if views are that astronomical), are you sure it's not one of those extensions querying the DB for topics? Maybe the Recent Topics extension? I would think it would affect all topics, but worth a try disabling to verify.

Re: Attachments settings in the ACP

Have you tried re-uploading that file? It may be corrupt.

Re: Locking post if certain BBCode is present

I guess I'll go into a little more detail. I have a BBCode that is only available for moderators/administrators. I was able to get it to work that only those groups can use and see the BBCode. The problem I was having was they were not locking the post (thus, the original poster could go back and re...

Re: Locking post if certain BBCode is present

Thanks, but for some reason I don't think it's working. The weird thing though is if I var_dump the post_data, it shows this: 'post_edit_locked' => boolean true So the code is executing, but if I edit the post, the box is left unchecked. I checked the DB and post_edit_locked is still set to 0 (false...

Locking post if certain BBCode is present

This is going to be a bit out there, but I have a reason for requesting this. :P In an extension I'm working on, I need to lock a post if a BBCode is present. I know the value I need to change, it's post_edit_locked . This is obviously not correct PHP code, but oh well. if ($post_text <contains> '[b...

Re: Contact Form Questions

I was thinking of adding a message to the contact form to at least warn human spammers that any spam messages they send will be posted on the forum in a special area designated as "spam mail" to show to the public and expose them as being annoying spammers. Assuming they wouldn't want tha...

What about the code to read?
Agreed, a GitHub link or download of the code would be helpful.

Re: The Coronavirus Topic

So the tl;dr part of it is, wash your hands often and don't touch your face without washing your hands. I'll add that you need to wash your hands for 20 seconds with warm, soapy water. Isn't this what the CDC has been saying for over a month? I work with elementary school students and even before t...
