I don't think that's true ZoliveR. Not saying that I know how to do it but I'm sure you can alter the code to look for the avatars and smilies in a different location. In theory, without seeing the code, I'd say you'd need to alter the path for where the items are included. Whatever else is involved...

I'm starting to think the install for your board was bad. I tried to register for your forum to see if things looked any different and the email confirmation link sent me to your site but under https. Which is really odd. I just removed the "s" and it completed the confirmation. But it shouldn't hav...

Okay, go to Admin panel --> Forum Admin --> Permissions and then select one of your newly created categories. In there you will see what "View" is set to. Make sure it's set to "ALL".

If it's already set to "ALL" then let us know and we'll work from there.

Hi filmania, welcome to the forum.

the forum has a user guide which can be found here. You'll find all the basic documentation you should need for things such as adding forums and whatnot.

Have fun :)

Re: Smarty?

Does phpbb implement the smarty template engine or a cheap hack? What a great way to introduce yourself ... Might be throwing flames on a recent trolling mission? Cheap and phpBB should not be used in the same sentence. The developers need to add blocking "cheap" and "phpBB" in the same line in the...

The forum itself untouched works fine in every browser I've used, and I've used quite a few. Have you modified the tables or any other element of the layout of your forum? There just may be something that's causing the browser to act up. If the problem's only occuring in Opera I wouldn't worry about...

Are you sure you want to go as far has naming your kid phpBB? I mean, why not start out small like getting phpBB tattooed on your arm with a heart around it?

Just taking a shot in the dark here. Have you changed your personal time in your profile? In your admin you set the board's time. But in your personal profile you set your own time zone and that's what will show when you're logged in.

Make changes to the logo in your overall_header.tpl file. Should be in the subSilver template. When you log into your site as the admin you can go into the admin panel and click on Management under Styles Admin in the left pane. Then click on edit for subSilver and you can change fonts, colors, font...

Thanks for the input. I did know certain sets of IP's were assigned to different countries, or something like that  So I figured that was another use of the blocking feature. I had a spammer get on my forum and post some crap so I wanted to block him. I ended up just deleting all his posts and...

Go to your admin panel. Then under User Admin select Management. Then look up the user and at the bottom of their options there's a checkbox to delete the user. Check it and submit it.

Another tip would be to have him register under a new name and then PM him/her with their new password for their main account. This way you're not sending passwords through email. Then once it's straightened out you can delete the temporary account. Yeah I know it may seem like a lot for just one us...

Question regarding the blocking of Static IP's

Here's my thought/question. If I want to get rid of a user I have the option of blocking their IP or a range of IP's. But doesn't this only work on people who have a constant IP. I ask because I work for an ISP, and bear with me cause I'm still a little wet behind the ears, and as I understand it, o...
