Kudos to you hillrunr, but don't expect it to last unfortunately. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captcha#Circumvention The default phpBB images are definitely compromised. - I've been hit by 4 different bot variations over the last two weeks. I say 4 because there were 4 different naming conventions u...

You mean the third octect never seems to reach 100 or beyond, correct? Ok, techy-grammar lesson complete.. ;) -- This can be a bit cumbersome, but...... (Assuming you're using mySQL in a default environment..) phpMyAdmin to phpbb_posts. From there, if you browse, you can see that poster IP's are log...

Hi, The font is Triplex by Emigre and costs a substantial amount but if you tell me the words I will make the button for you. Those of you like me who don't mind putting in just a little extra work might find this link somewhat handy too... http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/emigre/triplex/sans-light/tes...

Awesome!

Did you figure out why 'last activity' has been giving "Wed Dec 31, 1969 7:00 pm" (or maybe another date/time depending on server timezone??)

Looks pretty cool!

Hi, I installed this mod in order to see when my members last visited my board. But, the timestamp isnt always updated. I have members that have subitted replies yesterday but the mod says they havent been in for a week. I have members that claims they have been in reading topics, but the "last ref...

Thanks drathbun, more than I needed, but definitely helpful just the same. (I might be able to cut down on some crunch-time using that I think..) Also, I do have another one if the Gods are still watching here... - And I'm guessing this has been asked before, but... Is there a list of all the string...

Can I assume $userdata['user_id'] is set if user logged on?

Pardon the n00b-Q but if I have a routine to check for login (using a raped 'pagestart.php' which is "included") can I assume that $userdata['user_id'] is now set persistent (by 'login.php') for the users session? In other words, if a user is logged in, shouldn't $userdata['user_id'] be set for that...

Also, for the really smart bots you can quickly/easily mod the mod so they have to keep on their toes to figure out how to work around it. (Just edit the filenames so they have to re-config their parser..)

Have you looked into using the anti-robotic mod by Smartor?

Stops spammers from auto-registering with bots and doing this sort of thing. Using that and a swift heavy hand with the block function should solve your problem I would think.

And yes, this is the wrong place to go to ask..

That competing for rank by post count happens on a lot of boards that use that feature. The plus side to it is that it can make an otherwise lame board appear to have more worthwile content that what it really has because of the inflated post count. (Really good if you charge for banner impressions....

Smartors was nice and easy to setup and customize... (But looks like his site is ummm.... "down" right now..) Should be able to find it elsewhere though..
