Re: SQl Error when posting a topic

Ok, you made a mistake in installing the mod. Solution here: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/ ... 76#p331876

Re: SQl Error when posting a topic

I should have clarified earlier but the error was there even before I installed boardwatch. The post does get submitted even though the error is displayed and email notification is also successfully delivered. Khans16 says the error was there before boardwatch and if that's true his problem can't b...

Re: Adsbot (Google) access?

Thanks, all. Bill, good thought but I checked and I see robots.txt has 644 permissions. Robert, I thought indicating disallow in robots.txt would tell properly functioning and compliant bots like google to skip the site altogether, and I have never assigned the bots group any role or granted them an...

Re: Adsbot (Google) access?

Thanks, that's what I figured on the phpbb end. But any thoughts on why adbots (and a number of other bots) are listed in the manage spiders area as accessing the site even though I have a robots.txt file saying they shouldn't do that? Also, so that I can avoid users being concerned about this, anyt...

Adsbot (Google) access?

I just noticed adsbot (Google) online on my forum and when I clicked the adsbot link in who is online it said adsbot was reading a certain forum. This surprised me because: (1) I have a robots.txt file in the root phpbb folder that reads User-agent: * Disallow: / and (2) I deny access to all forums ...

Re: ok to set queue_interval to 0?

Thanks, Bill. Given my traffic patterns I came to the same conclusion that this shouldn't be a real problem. So far, it seems to be working fine.

Re: Copyright

If the mod was released here (on phpbb.com), it was released under the gnu general public licence which generally allows anyone to use it (or modify it) so long as the person using or modifying it gives credit and does not charge others for the result (see the "License and English support" section w...

ok to set queue_interval to 0?

Up until now I've had a small enough number of users that I have been able to get away with email_package_size of 0 (which skips use of the email notification queue altogether and instead sends out all notification emails as soon as the poster posts), but because my number of users has grown (and be...

Storage and display of links

When a user posts text that includes a link, phpbb3 stores the link in the database in two different ways depending on whether the link includes 'http://'. 1. If the post text includes 'http://' the link gets stored like this: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.test.com">http://www.test....

Re: Board watch

Greetings. I run a private company forum for about ~25 users. Decided to give this mod a shot. The users started complaining about excessive email to them about all new posts. Apparently, the way I see it, boardwatch by default sets up automatic email for all posts? Is there a way for me to change ...

Re: Clone post

DennyTX, the dropdown menu that gives you a list of forums is created by this line in clone.php: make_jumpbox(append_sid("{$phpbb_root_path}posting.$phpEx"), $forum_id); and this line in styles/prosilver/template/clone.html: <!-- BEGIN jumpbox_forums --> <!-- IF jumpbox_forums.S_FORUM_COUNT neq 0 --...
