OK thanks for your replay. Does this request modification is posible? p.post_time > tt.mark_time OR (tt.mark_time IS NULL AND p.post_time > ft.mark_time) OR (ft.mark_time IS NULL AND p.post_time > 1269124098) This reverence change that it check posts to one or two mounts only? Re: View or mark unread posts

Oh wait, I also noticed that you installed a mod to the mod (not part of the regular mod) that I warned in my very first post in this topic would slow down your board. Here's a quote from my first post in this topic: The code this mod uses to figure out if there are unread posts is from phpbb3's cor...

Re: View or mark unread posts

i have this mod but my forum is slowler after install mod. simple request is 4s and i saw SQL Report... Take a look at the author_notes.txt file that appears in the contrib folder. Among other things, it says: 2. This mod requires an extra cople of queries in order to toggle the link between "You h...

Sounds like you are on version 1.0.5c.

Re: should forum permissions overrule category permissions?

I agree that the behaviour you describe is the desired one, but the implementation might be rather complex. Haven't looked at the code, but I would have thought it's as simple as getting rid of the permissions check for categories altogether. If you did that, a category would show up if, and only i...

I wasn't suggesting this approach for parent forums...only for categories. It makes sense to me that you shouldn't be able to see a subforum unless you have permissions to view the parent forum.

Re: should forum permissions overrule category permissions?

IMHO the logic should be written like if the user does not have permissions to read the forum than the Cat should not be shown, simply as it is... I agree the user should not see the category if he can't see any forums underneath, but I would get rid of the permissions concept relating to categorie...

Re: should forum permissions overrule category permissions?

where would the forum appear if the category it is within doesn't exist to the user? I suppose just as a parent-less forum, or as a child of whatever the next forum is above it in the hierarchy that the user does have permission to, but this could get messy in my opinion. Maybe I'm missing somethin...

Re: should forum permissions overrule category permissions?

a category is just a forum so you have to have permissions to access the forum( category) before you can access the forum inside it. that is my guess. robert I agree that that is the technical explanation, but I am asking about whether it should be that way. Seems to me that if you grant a person o...

should forum permissions overrule category permissions?

I find it strange that granting specific forum permissions to a group will not work unless the group has been given those same permissions to the parent category. Is there a reason that the specific does not rule the general in this case?

Re: phpBB Gallery

I can't seem to find where i can change if pictures need approval :( Can anyone help me out on this? Go to the Gallery tab in the ACP (the tab may be called 'Gallery' or it may be called '.Mods' depending on how you set things up). Then click the 'permissions' link that appears at the left side of ...

Re: View or mark unread posts

Maybe it is a good idea to incorporate this last fix in the readme files. I don't think I ever had anything in the readme for showing the view unread posts link on every page, did I? I went ahead and updated the old pre-phpbb3.0.6 post showing how to do that with the new code, and it probably is a ...

Re: View or mark unread posts

...BUT I forgot to tell you about issue #3 Here again, you're probably relying on an old out of date post that I made before 3.0.6. If you want to change prosilver to add a view unreads link on every page, get rid of what you already did from that old post and then I think you would do this (haven'...

Re: tabulated survey at topic head

I followed the directions you provided in a reply to an earlier post but could find no permissions relating to your mod. I'm marked as having "Full Access" to all forums and the dropdowns do not mention surveys. 'Full access' has nothng to do with it since that is a 'role' that is defined however y...
