Re: phpBB password auditing tools?

I've never used it but you should take a look at the PHP crack extension.

Re: Is it important to include http:// in signatures

AFAIK search engine spiders will only follow links, which will almost always be any anchors with a href attribute, they won't follow URLs that are just in the page text. Why? They are supposed to act like normal browsers, crawling the web from the users perspective. They might however visit the URLs...

Re: [SUGGESTION] Different password/PIN to ACP

While the article's content is valid (for maximum safety, using sudo is better than logging in as root), it is not at all the same thing being brought up here. Bzzzt, wrong. The similarities between both are quite obvious (and also, you shouldn't be presenting your opinion as die-hard fact)....

Solved.
That MOD is hardly a solution, it allows you to post totally unfiltered HTML including Javascript.

Re: Discuss: AutoMOD 1.0.0-RC4 released

I'm going to suggest this here for now. Please consider using transactions around data definition on databases that support them (postgres). As rc4 still generates broken sql on installation for postgres installing and uninstalling it becomes really confusing and/or painful. Sounds like a bug if yo...

Re: Apple iPad

Great article about Flash and why it should not be on Mobile devices: http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ Personally, I hope Flash will eventually die and that HTML5 will become widely accepted. I find it ironic that their objections to Flash are Adobe's absolute control over the platfo...

Re: Windows 7 or vista..?

I supose its a mater of where one gets ones info and who one trusts . Well obviously I don't trust people who comment on forum posts without any kind of evidence to back their claims up. I regularly read as many computer magazines as i can and i havent found any revues of vista 7 that say it has an...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.1 discontinues support for PHP < 5.2

We won't discontinue 3.0 until at least 6 months after 3.1 is released, if the situation with distros and 5.2 support is still a problem we can consider extending security support for 3.0.

In the context of the topic it's either relevant or not, in this case it is. Perhaps it's not relevant to the OP but somebody else coming along and finding this might appreciate the link.
