Re: Prosilver style: first impressions

Quite true with regards to ems, I'm well aware of that. However one of the best arguments for using ems for typesetting is that it can be resized in IE < 7, which cannot resize fonts specified in pixels. This ain't happening on phpBB.com... you know why? I changed that a few days ago as it seems th...

Re: Prosilver style: first impressions

I personally think this style is horrid and will be changing it when I install 3.0. I don't like the easter esque colors, and I don't understand why people create themes with fixed page widths. If I wanted to view a site at 1024x768 I would set my monitor to that resolution. I'm sure folks who are ...

Re: Prosilver style: first impressions

What I don't like is that when you're viewing a topic, the title at the top is the name of the topic (which is fine), but when you go to the reply form, that same title becomes the name of the forum. It would be better if it could stay as the name and link of the topic, because often I find that I ...

Re: prosilver pet peeves

overuse of text-transform: uppercase; // imo should be banned! bizzare adding "on" to dates, look awful with relative dates "jump to page" appears only as a tooltip/title, rather than clearly spelled on multi-page threads I will change the text transform in the posting screen. But it is one of the ...

Re: Prosilver style: first impressions

Quote" links disappear if you're not allowed to post, but "post reply" is there... inconsistent. Sometimes it is better to actually let people press buttons to experience that something is not allowed instead of letting the search for an answer. It is also redirects you to the login screen when you...

Re: Bug #7914 deleted?

The title was "forum_last_post_id contains wrong post id after approving second post in topic". So what happened to it, did you delete it? If so, why? And if not, where is it now? That happened because the guy that wrote the converter didn't consider to take over the old bug ids. We are now using o...

Re: prosilver pet peeves

Hmm, Opera works fine for me (at least 9.01). I use Opera 9.10 with default settings, and the font appears to be 10 px... ;) here is some observations regarding font sizes in linux. now, i don't have tools to actually measure it, so this is subjective: konqueror (3.3.2): looks like 13px. for some re...

Re: New adminpaneldesign - prosilver!

GroovePlugs wrote: What did that mean exactly? maybe I don't want to know.

We didn't want to manage two different admin styles. So we just took the HTML of prosilver admin a year or so back and used a subsilver stylesheet on it. So the HTML didn't change a bit, just the CSS and the images are different now.

Re: prosilver pet peeves

arod-1, please do not confuse pt size with px size. There is no pt sizing in prosilver, and there really shouldn't be in web design, unless you are working on a print stylesheet. In typography, a point is the smallest unit of measure, it being the subdivision of the pica. It is commonly abbreviated ...

Re: another compromise on the name left versus right discussion.

I like the version in the making of prosilver that is like that. As long as they are each on separate sides like in the picture. There are a lot of situations in which this makes the layout break and look worse. The problem with the post display is that it looks different to users with different pe...

Re: Prosilver style: first impressions

I played with it and counted 3: 1. change the miniprofile to float left 2. change the post content to float right 3. change the miniprofile white border-left to border-right Yeah, and you may also need to adjust the "online" images if you also want them on the left side. But in the end, the major l...
