True - I'm assuming people work with the latest complete version but simply forgot something and keep missing / reading over it in the instructions. It happens

Hi Graham, Thanks for the info! THe timestamp of your last visit is stored in the phpbb_users table. When you log on, any posts after this are marked as unread unless they are marked in the cookie (see below) When you read a topic, it is noted in a cookie that you have read that topic (and when IIRC...

Keep topics unread - need program logic

Hi, Please forgive me if this has been covered - I'd appreciate a link! The Keep topics unread mod is not working correctly, so I want to have a look at how it works to see if I can correct the problem. To do this, it would really help if someone could give me the program logic of logging on, showin...

Well, other services might be of use, but my personal view is that if occasionally people browse the forum (like the admin), that should be sufficient to generate the digests. If there is nobody browsing the forum, there are no messages being generated and you don't need to send digests anyway... So...

Pseudocron is not an option, I tried it. Pseudocron basically calls the script from within another script, such as page_header.php, which is called frequently when users or guests browse the forum. Because it is called from within another script, you get lots of errors because global variables will ...

OK, I've got a working version, so I'm putting some stuff here. I hope someone who has a good knowledge of the whole phpBB code can have a look to see if I forgot anything vital or made other big goofs - php is new to me as well :-) And to everyone: this is NOT a complete mod - use at your own risk ...

Move post MOD

Hi, What I want is a simple way to move a post from one topic to another. So far I have a text box in posting_body.tpl that only shows when the user is admin or mod, where the topic_id can be edited. I've also figured out where to change the topic_id so the post actually shows up in the other topic....

Previous / Next User on ViewProfile

Hi, I needed two links on the profile view page so I as Admin could go to the next or previous user and quickly inspect their settings without having to go back to the members list. I'm posting the code that I used below. I don't have time to make it into a true mod, but anyone who has some knowledg...

Dropping this topic on this forum for now. I've moved in between to a direct link to a version of the user profile that the admin can alter (copied from the admin section) and will later try to add a list of user groups with check boxes there. The code however is diverging too much from phpBB to mak...

Avatar used count on gallery

Hi, I'd like to show how many times an avatar is used when people select an avatar from the gallery. I've pretty much figured out where the code should be, but I'm no wizz with SQL and PHP. This is the function that needs changing in usercp_avatar.php: function display_avatar_gallery This is the sec...

Well, if the error is that a table doesn't exist, you must solve it by creating the table. Use phpMyAdmin to access your database. With this you can create tables and such. If you don't have phpMyAdmin, get in touch with your provider / host to find out where and if you can install it. However, all ...
