OK, thanks for being right on top of things! I'll shelve my tests a while until you're a bit further.

If you still want to try it, there is a command in php include_once() that should keep things from trying to be included twice. Just replace the includes in mail_digests.php with 'include_once()' http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.include-once.php Yep - already tried that, and a host of other op...

On a side note, I thought I should report my results with pseudo-cron. I installed pseudo-cron, and added an include line to pseudo-cron in common.php so that any user or guest browsing the board will call pseudo-cron and this in turn will do all scheduled tasks, like call mail-digests.php. The resu...

Sorry about the massive email flood, I'm not sure exactly what happened, but the place to look would be in both the $subscription_data[] array and the $total_subscriptions variable. Together these are supposed to be controlling the subscriptions. Typically this situation occurs if you have a loop f...

Thanks for the update - I'm busy with it right now. One note: 3) Sign up for any web-based uptime/site monitoring service and make them poll http://yourdomain.com/phpbb/mail_digests.php EVERY HOUR (the fixed setting for this mod) to check for uptime. Upon trigger, your webhost will send out the dige...

Maybe you will be kind enough to help me out here? Like I said, I'm new to PHP and not very well versed in how to write things exactly. This is the logic that I think is needed: 1. In page_header.php (or another file that is used to build any of the phpBB pages and retrieves database settings from t...

unless mail_digests.php is modified to remember the fact that it already sent a digest for a given hour, subscribers may received multiple digests. If that is the only problem, then I can solve that. I think it should be solved anyway, for example, if the site is down at 03:00 and back up at 04:15,...

Think I'll have a go with setTimeout in a javascript function. http://www.devguru.com/Technologies/ecmascript/quickref/win_settimeout.html If this works, then anyone who is browsing the forum will in fact trigger the digest mail function. If no-one is browsing, no new mail is generated either so a m...

I just happened upon this: <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="30;url=viewonline.php"> as a trick to refresh a page every 30 seconds. Would this work, say in overall.header.tpl, as a trick to call the email php every hour? I'm a programmer but too new to php to be able to see problems or options her...

Hi all, This is a mod that I definitely need, but crontab is not an option for me. I'm sure there are ways to execute the main php file in other ways * by a user who happens to create a post: if the file has not been executed this hour yet, do so now? * by the board admin via an extra button or link...

Quick 'n dirty Insert posts into ...

Does someone have an example of an INSERT INTO statement that will let me insert a series of posts (emails) at once? Or is there something available for that already? I have a load of mails that I want to add to the forum, and for me it is easiest if I prepare a text file with the correct formatting...

Decent Dutch FAQ translation

Hi,

Has someone made a proper translation of the FAQ into Dutch? The current one is of very poor quality.

Thanks,
Dennis
