Re: [2.0.20] MOD Troll

Sure, you could add code to email troll postings to the forum admin. In functions_post.php find this: //START MOD troll if ($userdata['user_troll']) { switch (rand (1,2)) //case 3 is done by miserable_user.php And just before the line with switch, you would insert a block of code to email the post t...

Re: keep unread flags

You probably made mistakes in functions.php. The fact that posts are not seen as read, and the array is not defined, point in that direction.

Re: [Beta] Translate topic URL's

No, in that case I'm not having another look. The amount of extra work that is needed to make it into a proper mod and submit it, is not what I usually have time for. Besides, even though 2.0.22 is still used extensively, I have a feeling that it doesn't really pay to invest time in creating proper ...

Re: [Beta] Translate topic URL's

I will have a look next week if I changed the code in any way, but it worked fine for me earlier, so I have no idea why it didn't work for you. I certainly cannot find errors when there are no errors at my end, I need more information about how you installed it etc.

Re: keep unread flags

The question itself probably springs from the (wrong) idea that this mod remembers EACH POST whether it is read or not. It doesn't. It remembers ONE TIME per topic, any and all posts after that time are unread. So there is no easy way to mark a single post within a topic as read. You will always mar...

Re: keep unread flags

Just briefly coming back to those people who want both the standard "new posts" feature as well as the full list of unread topics, it may be an idea to call the link to the full list of unread posts "unread posts" and add that link (instead of replacing the new posts link), so you have both "new pos...

Re: keep unread flags

On the other hand, my members are simply not interested in certain topics and certain threads within topics. When they check in they don't want to see what looks like a bunch of new posts, but are really just posts they ignored the last time. Telling them that they can hit the "mark all posts read"...

Re: [BETA] Post edit all * Anyone can edit a given post

There were some problems reported but the mod works fine as it is, except for one small glitch which has been solved. New code is ready.

Re: keep unread flags

Would it be possible to make a checkbox after each topictitle in the list of unread topics, so you can mark a selection of the topics as read? Or am I asking too much now? Haha this is computerzzz, anything is possible... :D I wasn't planning on making it although I can see the advantage. A ...

Re: keep unread flags

You can already do that: when you have read everything you want to read, go to the index page and click the link to mark the whole forum as read.

Re: keep unread flags

I have a couple of question regarding this mod.. As the mod is storing all the unread topics for each member on a forum.. what's going to happen to the servers resources? Does this mod consume much space for storing unread topics for larges forums? How about speed issues? As far as I understand thi...

Re: keep unread flags

PS: Check autologin - it is an automated login option, not an option to stay logged in with the date of three years ago, if I understand it correctly.

Re: somehwat off-topic: phpbb's new posts function

Hmmm, the reason to post it via PM was to keep these discussions off list since they are not relevant to the real mod here. But I used what the original phpBB used to track new posts in search.php, which is this code: if ( $search_id == 'newposts' ) { if ( $userdata['session_logged_in'] ) { $sql = "...

Re: keep unread flags

FYI, since I'm a sucker for challenges, I've sent a test version of what I will call "classic new posts" to Asinsesq to try out. We must make sure the code works since my forum may not be exactly what he has. If we get it to work, we'll post it here of course. I do agree that for SOME forums that I ...
