Hiding subSilver

As I'm using EasyMod I can't remove subSilver but I dont use it and I don't want users to be able to select it from the list of drop down styles - I simply want to offer the users a drop down list of styles (CSS only) which are basic variations (different font sizes, slightly different colour scheme...

Now this might be just a complete co-incidence but...

I've been looking at my logs and trying a few things.

I went into lang_main and changed:

$lang['Register'] = 'Register';

to

$lang['Register'] = 'Sign Up';

And the bots have stopped... not had anything for over 24 hours...

no, our mods aren't similar... I think that this MOD is useful for FAQ, Rules, etc. No they aren't similar - although they do similar things. I specifically designed mine to be able to handle full posts because a couple of sites I help run wanted to be able to link back to longer articles than the ...

You need to edit your template files and wrap those areas of the navigation menu that you want to hide between <!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_in --> and <!-- END switch_user_logged_in --> For example in overall_header.tpl: <!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_in --> <br />   <a href="{U_MEMBERLIST...

It looks good. One thing I have noticed recently is that the email domains being used by spam bots are, in the majority of the cases on my board, from domains that don't exist at all. So would it make sense to do a whois on the domain first (Easy to do on a Linux box... and if you've got jwhois it c...

OK

I've had no people reporting problems... which is depressing as over 40 people looked at the code and not one person told me that it didn't actually work (I released the wrong version of the code).

So I've fixed that and submitted the mod to the MOD database.

Coding MODS to take other MODS into account

I'm working on a MOD which involves using wz_tooltip.js I've put the commands into a MOD file to integrate it with a clean board but I'm aware that other mods also use wz_tooltip.js So what is the best way to handle it? Do I put that bit of code in a separate MOD script and tell people NOT to run if...

This changes mode=register to mode=[somewordhere]

which is something completely different

Or are you saying my mod wont install if that mod is installed?

OK - I've had 22 views of the code.

Has anyone (apart from me ;) ) installed it anywhere?

Did anyone have any problems/suggestions?

If not I'll submit it to the Mod Database.

There seem to be several different tooltip/acronym style mods around - all of which seem to offer a partial set of functionality. This one allows nice large blocks of text which is good if you want to have more than a simple one liner explaining something. It also allows you to explain words or phra...
