Well I had to hack it to get it to work. I replaced the sql block which was : // Start Forum Views Counter MOD $sql = 'UPDATE ' . FORUMS_TABLE . " SET forum_views = forum_views + 1 WHERE forum_id = $forum_id"; if ( !($result = $db->sql_query($sql)) ) { message_die(GENERAL_ERROR, 'Could not update fo...

Is it me or is this mod not EasyMod friendly?

The code changes in functions_post are not in line order - it does changes on towards the end of the file [ORDER BY smilies_id";] before doing changes earlier in the file [if (!$db->sql_query($sql, BEGIN_TRANSACTION))]

Mine ran through easy mod with no errors on subSilver.

Doesn't do anything - can't see any Ajax style functionality at all

Well that's what I was thinking - but its going to involve quite a bit of manual intervention I was actually wondering about putting something in that if there are more than x posts in the topic then it builds a navigation index built using the post subject - as most people who are replying to a pos...

Very long topics

I've got a board that has got a couple of topic threads that have got upto over 200 pages long (so thats about 1200 posts each). A couple of people have said that its getting hard for them to follow things - because as always happens the single conversation splits into several inside the topic Has a...

Microsummaries

I've been playing with the microsummaries in FireFox2 and I've hacked together some phpbb changes to support a microsummary of the latest postt for the main page and for public (i.e read_auth=0) forums. In each case it shows the Forum name, the title of the post and the date/time it was added. I'm s...

Unless you edited smartfeed_url_body.tpl or are using some some odd phpBB theme which mangles HTML and Javascript in overall_header.tpl or overall_footer.tpl, it should be there. It starts on line 80 of smartfeed_url_body.tpl. I found it. if (logged_in) { url = url + "u={USER_ID}"; // <!-- BEGIN sw...

I hadn't changed anything and the version I had installed worked fine (and worked fine when I put it back).

If I get time I'll drop it onto my test copy of the forum and see if I can work out what is going on

Javascript error

I get an error when I try to use smartfeed when I'm logged in. When I'm not logged in the button generates a URL with no problems. If I'm logged in then Firefox reports : createURL is not defined.

I have installed this with easymod onto phpbb v21. It seemed to work - however now no one has any signatures - even people with over the specified number of posts - and even when I set it to allow :? Any ideas? Thanks I have exactly the same problem in that although signatures appear in posts there...

Well I've just downloaded the Beta and installed it - very impressed. Yes its very different from 2.x and will take quite a bit of getting used to but it does pretty much everything my modded 2.x board does. Hopefully the few things it doesn't have (like spell checking, minor tweaks SEA optimisation...

"intelligent" search index rebuild

I've been looking at the various search index rebuild scripts but none of them seem to do what I want. Rather than rebuild the entire search index what I'd be looking for is: 1) Finds any NEW posts since the script was last run and add those words into the search index. 2) Finds any posts modified s...

Yes - in the admin control panel there is an option to enable forum pruning and to set how many days. Then each forum can be selected for forum pruning
