Re: [MODDB] Approval MOD v2.0

Good news! The MOD has been validated by the phpBB admins and is now in the official phpBB database.
The last RC version published here in July 2007 is the one that was validated.
Here is the official one and only support topic for the Approval MOD.

Re: Approval MOD

Ok I made 2 groups, then I was able to set permissions however, the post are still getting through. The reg system does not ask people what group they want to be in. Correct. Therefore, you need to set approval to on by default in your forum(s). This is whether you want or do not want to deal with ...

Re: [RC] Approval MOD v2.0

How do I make the "Forum Defaut [off]" switch over to "Needs Approval?" I have tried several things but they do not work. I cannot get the admin_ranks function to work because it conflicts with other MODs, I think. I would like to make it so that all new registered users will default to "Needs Appr...

Re: [RC] Approval MOD v2.0

I don't understand what it is asking me to do. I have phpmyadmin. Is this an INDEX thing or do I INSERT? Is this a RENAME? I do not know how to "Execute these statements" As it is indicated by the "UPDATE" string in each statement those are the UPDATE statements, which, guess what.. update the rows...

Re: [RC] Approval MOD v2.0

I am not sure if this could be easily done but I just installed this Mod and I have ez-portal installed and it works fine but if I am not logged in and someone makes a post that hasn't been approved yet, the portal recent topics block shows the actual topic title but I want it to say [awaiting appr...

Re: [RC] Approval MOD v2.0

Can someone please explain how to do this: UPDATE phpbb_forums SET forum_last_post_approved = forum_last_post_id; UPDATE phpbb_topics SET topic_last_post_approved = topic_last_post_id; Those are SQL statements that must be processed by your SQL server directly. You have to find out how to access yo...

Good news! The final version of the Approval MOD 2.0 has been submitted for validation by phpBB team!
Hopefully it won't take very long before it appears in the official phpBB database.

Re: [RC] Approval MOD v2.0

(This is a very great mod, I have been looking for it, and the only luck I got was a mod in development, but hey it's worth it. ) This MOD is not in development as such -- I just haven't had time to submit it to the MODs database properly. I am not developing any new features any more and so ...

Please provide the link to the above mentioned MOD download page.

Re: [RC] Approval MOD v2.0

How much money for do this mod for olympus then? That's an interesting one.. I guess too much money to really happen. :-) What you have to know is that the current version of the Approval MOD was needed for my company's Intranet, so I made it more or less at work (with a bit of my personal spare ti...

There are no current plans for that.
By the way, Olympus has some approval functionality out of the box (although not as flexible as phpbb2.0 with this MOD).

Re: Database repair

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it made no difference. The Index still reports 4 posts that need approval even though there are none that do. Any other suggestions? Ok, I looked inside the code and found a couple of funny things... There exist admin functions to sync everything but there i...
