allow_url_fopen

Hi, does phpBB require allow_url_fopen to be enabled for the forum and SMTP.. I am asking because i am running a server with CGI/FastCGI and i dont want to enable allow_url_fopen server wide. But it has to be changed in the main php ini file. So does phpBB require it to be enabled at all? Thanks :)

My experience 3.2.1 to 3.2.2 update

I only had two issues updating from 3.2.1 to 3.2.2 first one came when i downloaded the changed files Unable to guess the mime type as no guessers are available (Did you enable the php_fileinfo extension?) so i installed php_fileinfo and then downloaded the file, uploaded the changes, and then it ha...

Re: Setting Up COPPA - anyone experienced in this

At the end of it the registrants can lie. True but from what i have gathered so far, site opperators are not reponsible or liable for that, unless they ignore facts that they are made aware of about the profile data. All we have to do is once we discover such a thing is to delete their account and ...

Re: Setting Up COPPA - anyone experienced in this

Thanks... i think ill hold off for now after reading through the FAQ Basically as i see it so far, if it wasnt for the IP that phpBB stores without an option to not store it, COPPA would probably not even be required at all with regards to data storage for minors. Data such as city and state and tho...

Re: avatar gallery not showing all folders

I know this is an old post but i just wanted to add this as it was not working for me. In my gallery directory so images/avatars/gallery i had to create a .htaccess file and put this in there. Options -Indexes <Files .htaccess> order allow, deny deny from all </Files> Then the custom avatars showed u...

Setting Up COPPA - anyone experienced in this

Hi, I have a board that may be of interest to 13+ users. However i have never set up COPPA before. I understand what its for and i understand that we have to have some kind of form for the parent to sign that they can download and mail to us so that we can keep that on file. However since i have nev...

Re: twig source error after update 3.2.0 to 3.2.1

Re: twig source error after update 3.2.0 to 3.2.1

Well even with doing that, it went though the update like a breeze with no file differences at all. But same error after going to acp afterwords... well now what? Well here is the array, seems to me there needs to be a conditional statement in the code.. Array ( [0] => INCLUDE [1] => INCLUDEPHP [2] ...

Re: twig source error after update 3.2.0 to 3.2.1

Nope that didnt work, the only difference is when i installed the icon pack to get the dark colored icons. I downloaded the merge zip, installed it, rechecked the files and same files are not updated. If i just continue the update then it says it completed and then it gives me the twig error when i ...
