Re: Missing plugin to view films with

How are you uploading this "film"? Attachments? Link? Are you using a custom BBCode? As far as I know, phpBB does not have any video player built in. Playing videos on the web is a bit complex because you can embed with flash, use html5, or use windows media player etc (I'm assuming that's what you'...

Re: In need of someone to help us (meta tags and google seo)

Really, phpBB on it's own can build SEO without hardly any tweaking at all, but you need good content and it's nice to make the board look active, such as making fake accounts to sprout discussion, but be careful, you don't want them to figure out it's you. If your site is already in Google, g...

Re: Best Social Network Platform

The social network mod at phpbbsocialnetwork.com (the same one in the development forum) is really nice, and stable. I've used it and it works great. I'd recommend it.

Re: how many forums can phpBB handle?

There is no maximum number of forums or categories that phpBB can handle however the more you have the more time it may take for users and the server hosting the forum to load the web pages that are requested. You might experience slower loading times the more you have but there is no maximum. Just...

Re: HELP ! User accounts disappearing

Just looking at your first post, I noticed you got quite a few mods there installed. One I noted was "ACP Inactive Users", I've never heard of this mod or know what it is, but sounds like a mod to delete inactive users, that wasn't it by any chance was it? Also, could be a security issue. A big conc...

Re: How does Google manage Aliases?

From what I gather this could be counted as duplicate content so you need to fix it to get best ranking. If you have a subdomain, you should setup a 301 redirect from it to your domain. I did this once for a site I use to run, I don't know how to do it in control panels but the virtual host in apach...

jwool814, there are lots of free phpBB3 hosting providers that host phpBB only (not normal webhosts) that you could make a forum on and then link to from your Google site.

Re: Installinf SQlite on CentOS HELP

Do you get an error message? What is it? Edit: sqlite3 is not supported at this time. You need to install sqlite 2.x php extension and use that (I believe it's called just "sqlite"). I have used a tut from this page http://www.ehowstuff.com/how-to-install-phpbb-on-centos-5-5/#comment-694 to get as ...

I really suggest you use automod to install the mods, makes life a whole lot easier. Just of course, remember to backup.

Re: Add a button next to FAQ?

You are using a different style too but most likely you'd put it somewhere in your overall_header.html. Find where you want to add it and pop it in.
