Re: Discuss: The return of the database / Recent Downtime

installing a second copy of 32-bit Windows would be equivalent to 64-bit Windows When it comes down to math I lost most of my hope already - there are cases where people think 10% off for 2 articles is the same as stripping 5% off for each of those . The 32bit+32bit question is kinda mainstream fun...

Re: Discuss: The return of the database / Recent Downtime

Let's try keep this on-topic please ;) we’ve reset everyone’s settings to phpBB defaults (to email you for topic & forum subscriptions and PMs) So that was the culprit why I suddenly got e-mails again although I changed settings to never want them a long time ago. Why not rescuing them from a back a...

Not right now but in the future once it's initially complete then that would be really helpful.

At some point soon, when I have something to say that's different from the last 3 pages in this topic, I'll post so just subscribe to the topic. :)

[*]Replace [EVENT] in topic titles with an image Are there any instructions on how to do this? eventarrow.jpg Sure: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=2208516&#p13443461 Those instructions might be slightly off as they are designed for 3.0 but the differences shouldn't be too grea...

Re: New PHP for PHPBB 3.2?

I have seen a discussion here: https://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=81&p=283156 about requiring php 5.4 or 5.5 for phpbb 3.2, and I'm bit suprised. I was under the impression that 3.2 is going to be a minor release (according to semver) and as such maintain backwards compatibility. Howeve...

Re: which extensions are used on phpbb.com ?

Note: This extension is currently under development and is not ready to install on any live forum. Isn't this forum live? :P We know what we're doing. :P We decided to not do stable releases of team security as it is quite niche and then we don't need to provide support for it, put it on the CDB et...

Re: which extensions are used on phpbb.com ?

Overall we have a few extensions installed: Screenshot 2015-08-20 14.46.19.png Then we also have a few other changes to the code not in the form of extensions: The style (Prosilver SE is based on it) Canned messages (for common support queries e.g. walking someone through the steps for a board updat...

Re: Discuss: The return of the database / Recent Downtime

It isn't a "nag" it is an observation. If it were my "toy", which it isn't, I would ensure that I had a good db backup plan in place. Redundancy is nice but clearly wasn't enough in this case. I still, to this day, do not understand the need for ssl on a forum site. But that's a discussion for anot...

Re: phpbb hosted on yahoo?

It seems to be some weirdness caused by a tool we've been using for heat mapping. I've disabled it until we can work out why it's doing that. :)

Re: phpbb hosted on yahoo?

phpbb.com was down again for a couple of hours tonite. strange thing was that the error page said YAHOO was down and that they were working on it. robert That's very odd. Our server monitoring did pick up 15 minutes of downtime (Unfortunately when it paged me I was on a train with very patchy signa...
