Re: Copying forum permissions

I'm a little bit confused about the term "posting permissions" instead of "forum permissions". But to sum it up: It's fine to set up group's forum permissions for one (sub)forum and then use the "copy forum permissions" function while marking all elements (includ...

Copying forum permissions

I have somewhat of a newbie question: On my test-board I realized that the "Copy forum permissions" function runs really fast, even on shared hosting and with hundreds of forums. Could I just update the group forum permissions for one forum as I want them to have and then copy the permissi...

Re: Where in the DB are the Groups’ forum permissions stored

About 15. If nobody knows how to achieve what I want via SQL queries, could you please tell me where exactly in the database the info (e.g. "can search forum" activated) is stored? Maybe with trial and error I can figure out how to activate / deactivate specific group's forum permissions v...

Re: Where in the DB are the Groups’ forum permissions stored

Let's take the "Can search the forum" option as an example. How could I activate it for all users on all forums, or at least for all members of a specific group (e.g. registered users) in all forums using a SQL query?
Nobody here who can answer this? It would safe me a LOT of time.

Re: Where in the DB are the Groups’ forum permissions stored

As I have ~500 (sub)forums it would take a very long time doing it manually. A SQL query would be perfect.

Where in the DB are the Groups’ forum permissions stored?

I have a lot of forums and want to activate an option from the Groups’ forum permissions for all forums. 1) Where exactly is this data stored 2) A SQL query would very useful (I'd try it out on my test board first of course and make a DB backup before running the query on the live board's DB). Let's...

Re: Word censorship and URL-BBCode

Thanks for the Link.

I would very much prefer to use the method I posted above. I just need somebody experienced that tells me if the 2nd code change is OK or could hurt my board? Anyone with php knowledge out there who can answer that?

Word censorship and URL-BBCode

I need to censor a few URLs that are posted by humans again and again (with newly created accounts) using an IP range I can't block without locking out half of my users. I seem to have found a working solution, but would greatly appreaciate if someone experienced has a quick look at it to make sure ...

Re: I can't stop my forum taking auto-backup

It's definitely the Auto Backup Mod which also explains the existing edits in cron.php (and includes/functions.php).

Re: I can't stop my forum taking auto-backup

Probably the Auto Backup Mod is installed. You can turn it off by logging into the phpBB Administration Control Panel / Maintenance / Auto Backup / Enable Auto Backup: Change to Disabled / Submit.

Re: SQL queries for changing user permission in all forums

Ok, that does the trick for me, locks all forums:

Code: Select all

UPDATE phpbb_forums SET forum_status=1
