style.php with SID responsible for long load time?

When I check my load time the largest file is something like "http://www.domain.tld/style.php?id=2&amplang=en&ampsid=ef0a3bf298a978a91bb456c1e12a7b52" and I get the following message: 70590 bytes CSS; Header size = 209 bytes; Up to 57005 bytes could have been saved through compress...

Re: ACP / MCP operations are very slow

When clicking on the explain link after the subforum was successfully created I get: SQL Report: Page generated in 0.8292 seconds with 12 queries + 4 queries returning data from cache Time spent on mysqli queries: 0.06859s | Time spent on PHP: 0.76062s But in fact it took much longer than 0.8s, any ...

Re: ACP / MCP operations are very slow

Thanks. I uncommented those lines, reuploaded config.php and created a new subforum. After that was done I get the following " Time : 29.787s | 26 Queries | GZIP : On | Memory Usage: 5.73 MiB". :( Also setting up a new board (deleting everything but config.php /files / images, using databa...

ACP / MCP operations are very slow

Creating forums, copying / deleting topics, changing rights of users... everything seems to be really much slower since some time on my phpBB3.0.8 board. Optimizing the database or moving a copy of the forum to another hoster doesn't help. This also happens when the board is disabled and there are n...

Re: Q&A captcha is not working

I had the exact same problem with an outdated individual prosilver-based style which I couldn't update. I simple copied the 3.0.8 prosilver version of captcha_qa.html and posting_editor.html into the template folder and Q&A worked. Bad advice in this case. Users update has not completed correct...

Reducing DB size with fulltext mysql search?

At the moment I use fulltext native and my phpbb_search_wordmatch & phpbb_search_wordlist tables have ~400MB together. As supported by my hosting company can I change to fulltext mysql and delete the native search index to save space? Will I have to create a new search index and will it be small...

Re: Database crash whenever a topic is deleted

I already have the forum locally installed using XAMPP (with optimized php.ini & my.ini for better performance). There I can delete topics without problems, but maybe my PC has more power than the shared hosting server? How can I use that to find answers about my problem?

Database crash whenever a topic is deleted

We have shared hosting and many threads. Since some time whenever a lot of users are online and a moderator deletes a topic / thread the database crashes and the posts-table has to be repaired. I guess this is because when a thread get's deleted the IDs of all topics have to be newly calculated and ...

Starting from "zero" again?

My board is about 10 years old, has been converted from an old software to phpBB2 then upgraded to phpBB3 and steadily to 3.0.8. The style is individual and outdated, several mods are installed, the database is very big and has errors in it than can't be repaired easily or at all. How could I most e...

Decreasing database size

I regularly optimize all tables, keep phpbb_search_wordmatch & phpbb_search_wordlist small, but my DB is still pretty large (>1,2 GB unzipped). Any other tricks to reduce it's size?
