I'd also like to see some docs on the API. I have been using phpBB RC2 for some time now and I'd like to use the user authentication as a base for a community system I intend to write. The forum will have a central role and since phpBB2 has a good authentication and user management system I don't se...

Release Candidate 2, RC-2, is the final RC, or so the official was a few weeks back. Your request would then be implemented in the stable release. Anyway, I won't update my forums until phpBB2 v1.0 Stable is released.

My website has a target group, fans of fantasy books, so it's easy to get a community quickly. My forums grow steadily and currently people post about 1 500 messages a month. The key to making the forums successful, I think, is to 1. have a target group, 2. have at website with least 1 000 visitors ...

Well, if language support is implemented this shouldn't be a problem. Just let the Britts use British English and the Yankees American. All of us non-native speakers can pick our native tongue or any English version. BTW, which languages are phpBB2 translated to? Perhaps I can help with English - Sw...

Customizeable table name prefix

I'm limited to one database by my ISP and since phpBB has a table naming standard that cannot be changed I am limited to one forum only. An option to add prefices to table names during the installation procedure would be very useful to me. It'd make it easier to administer the database as well as it...

What do the v2 admin pages look like?

What do they look like? Could you post a screenshot of the main admin page and perhaps some of the admin sub pages?

Thanks.

PHP Coder rules! And do not even think of raising any objections :-)

Okay, it's a bit buggy, I must confess, but it's so powerful that it's worth it!

Strange...bad support for foreign characters. I'm sure there's function that converts foreign chars to HTML entities in the message body but it doesn't seem to convert chars in the message subject line. Shouldn't be hard to implement since PHP has built-in support for this sort of conversion.

Will it be possible to toggle 'edited by' message tags?

This is a feature I have been looking for a very long time: the possibilty of enabling/disabling the trailing 'This post was edited by <name> <date>'. Sometimes it just clutters up messages and it's usually rather useless so I'd be good if the forum admin could toggle this feature.

Well, it shouldn't be that hard to write such a system oneself. And if there's well-written documentation on the database-tables and well commented code, the job would just be a piece of cake.
