Re: my user doesn't have the permissions he should have

FAIC, if a user is in a group, all his individual permissions should be automatically set to the permissions of that group. That is exactly how it works. I think you are confusing user permissions set at the user level with user permissions set at the group level. if i wanna modify his individual p...

Re: not liking my error logs

The times are displayed in one minute increments (depending on settings). If you join at 4:58:59 and the mail error occurs at 4:59:00 (one one hundredth of a second later) the two will show one minute apart. If the other user joins at 5:17:30 and the error occurs at 5:17:32, they will show the same...

Re: how do i set permissions for registered coppa users?

Are you in the United States? Does your board have content targeted at those under 13 yo? If the answer to either of those is No, COPPA does not apply to you, and you should not be using that group. Therefore, you should set Enable COPPA to No in User registration settings, at which point permissio...

Re: my user doesn't have the permissions he should have

Where's the duplication? All registered users (which includes admins) have all the same USER permissions. I think you are missing some basics. There are User permissions, some of each of which are global and some of which are on a forum basis. User permissions can be assigned to individual users (u...

Re: Fix View Forum Titles

Every web site in the world works the same way. It shows in the Browser title bar the name of the page you are on. i've never really bothered to focus on the title bar. i only ever bother with the address bar. you're telling me every title bar has that much rubbish in it normally? jesus, what a was...

Re: my user doesn't have the permissions he should have

does not compute, does not compute. first you say yes, then you say my statement is incorrect. which is it? users and groups, groups' permissions, admins have the same set of user permissions as registered users. the post, profile, misc, and private messages tabs, and all the same functions. are th...

Re: my user doesn't have the permissions he should have

but the administrators group permissions do contain duplicates. the user permission sets for admins and registered users are identical. Yes , they are all No for everything. This is precisely because the Administrators are also members of the Registered users group. There are no Admin permissions i...

Re: Fix View Forum Titles

Of course you can. 1. In ACP, Board settings, clear the Site name field. 2. OPEN styles/prosilver/template/overall_header.html FIND: <title>{SITENAME} &bull; <!-- IF S_IN_MCP --> REPLACE WITH: <title>{SITENAME} <!-- IF S_IN_MCP --> 3. OPEN index.php FIND: page_header($user->lang['INDEX']); REPL...

Re: not liking my error logs

And what is it you don't like? well, where shall i begin? first of all, why is the time for my error a minute AFTER i joined, and not the minute i joined? secondly, since when is the one user i've got and the anonymous user one and the same? why would anonymous have his ip address? and why would an...

Re: my user doesn't have the permissions he should have

But under your plan, duplication would be necessary because Administrators could not also be in the registered users group and therefore the Administrators group permissions would have to contain duplicates of the permissions they could otherwise get from being in the Registered users group. but th...

how do i set permissions for registered coppa users?

i want them to have no permissions whatsoever. ideally i'd just like to delete the group, but seeing as i can't do that, i wanna set all their permissions to no.

Re: my user doesn't have the permissions he should have

You don't have to. The permission mask does it for you. It is probably true that the permission system could be simpler, at the cost of power and granularity. There is nothing to keep you from creating permissions roles for every group you have and putting members in one of those groups, but it wou...
