Re: New External Link on Main Menu

@SteveMauray, I followed your instructions exactly. Refreshed my style's template and theme, Purged the cache and got the dreaded white screen. I restored my board to an earlier point, having learned my lesson. My replacement text was: <a href="http://pugetsoundspeaks.com" title="Home" </a> <li...

Re: New External Link on Main Menu

Steve,

I did start my own topic on this, Terry54661 responded and suggested that I look at his thread. ;)

BTW, I really appreciate all the advice that you in particular have given me.

Thanks
Phil

Re: New External Link on Main Menu

I would like to have the code to enable a reader (member or visitor) to link with an external page added to the header list of "FAQ", "Register", and "Login."

I presume that would be added to: http://mysite.com/styles/prosilver/temp ... eader.html

thank you very much

Re: Renaming a forum

Try clearing your cache under "general" and refresh your theme and template under your style.

I do that religiously after the support guys told me that was necessary. The support guys are great! :D

Re: Please Help: Like/Dislike Buttons in Replies

I think you can add a Poll to the topic and only have two poll items: Like and Dislike. What I did is to add a poll to each cartoon caption contest and I am adding the selections manually as the captions come in. I can't see why you couldn't do the same for like/dislike at the topic level.

Re: Displaying SiteLock Badge on Message Board

Ric,

That is good to know. I can sleep better now.

You, Steve and the others on the support group are awesome and very giving.

The footer is working just like you said it would.

Thank you very much.

Re: Displaying SiteLock Badge on Message Board

Ric and Steve,

Thank you very much.

One thing I am amazed about is the ease that others can see my files on the web. Do I have a security problem?

I do appreciate your help, but there are others out there.

Re: Displaying SiteLock Badge on Message Board

Ric,

The file where I had pasted the sitlock html was http://spssmessageboard/adm/style/overall_footer.html; obviously not the right file.

Where do I add it into the correct file? Before the final </html>?

Re: Displaying SiteLock Badge on Message Board

Steve,

I will get it to you as soon as my web host fixes a glitch in its File manager system.

Thanks,

Phil

Re: Displaying SiteLock Badge on Message Board

Steve,

I followed your suggestion, refreshed the relevant files (prosilver theme and template) on the ACP and refreshed the cache, but nothing comes up? I do appreciate all your help, by the way.

Displaying SiteLock Badge on Message Board

I subscribe to SiteLock which makes sure that my message board is free of predators etc. They say that I should display their badge so users can feel comfortable that the site is monitored and protected.

The badge is html code.

where do I add this code and can php read it?

thanks,

Phil
