Deleting users through MyPhpAdmin?

Was wondering if it was possible for me to dump a large group of users (about 150+ spam accounts) via phpmyadmin instead of doing them one at a time via phpbb. Since they've never logged in, I figured it would be pretty easy to delete them. But I also wanted to know before doing it if it would have ...

Re: Replacement for default visual confirmation?

Yeah, I'm already implementing some of those solutions. But I figured that a different visual confirmation system might actually improve the number of bots that get denied.

Replacement for default visual confirmation?

Ok, it's a well known fact that the PHPbb visual confirmation system has been compromised and bots have been having a field day with this. So, I'm curious if there's a replacement out there for this, or a way to boost the existing system to keep out spammers. I've already got the anti-spam tools Ram...

Well, the backup's working again, but I'll keep your mod in mind in case I need it in the future.

Re: Database Backup doesn't work anymore!!

Well, that would be the good old people at phpbb, since I'm using the phpbb database backup function built into the forum software. The script I use to download it simply calls the database backup script for phpbb and downloads the database that way. The catch is that, as I mentioned before, I can't...

Re: Database Backup doesn't work anymore!!

Nobody has any ideas what's broke on this? I'm running the latest version of the forums, version 2.0.22 or whatever the latest is.

Re: My PHPBB being hacked!

I don't think you're being hacked. Very likely he's spamming your forums. Check each one of the forums to see what he's posted.

Database Backup doesn't work anymore!!

Ok, this started a few days ago and it bugs me because I run the site on a daily backup script designed for phpbb. I try to run the script, but eventually Curl times out and gives me an error of "curl: (52) Empty reply from server". I try to run the backup manually and no matter what configuration I...

Themes and whatnot

Ok, this is something that's been bugging me a lot with the new phpbb 3 coming out. Besides the current theme I see here, which I'm to understand is supposed to be the new phpbb them, what other themes will be available for phpbb 3 when it comes out in final version, and are there any examples of th...

Well, you'll just need to move the code that reports how many spam reports higher in the code, probubly near where the overall header is processed, and then call the value from there and plug it into your template.

Hmm, interesting. They may have var/spool on that list to stop spammers from exploiting holes in apatche (assuming any exist) and using the webserver to spam. Nah, it's not that big a deal. If it's a security thing that keeps my site safer, I'll leave it. :)

Need help sorting out odd issue with phpbb

Ok, this is a really, really weird one. One of my forum members happened to trigger it, which is the only reason I found it. If you type "/var/spool/" (without the spaces of course) in a post anywhere, it triggers an error that says: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /forums/posting.php ...

Did they post a new message, or edit an existing one? If it's editing an existing one, then yes, that's a known bug that's been fixed in the newer version.
