Re: Custom login, username help

request_var() just grabs the data from a GET or POST form so if you change it to something else like $_SESSION it should still work. Or am I misunderstanding you?

Re: Fresh install of 3.0.4 hangs at Requirements

When you say that it hangs or won't proceed do you mean you just get a white screen? If so can you get access to your server's error log? Try running the install script again then post the last 25 or so lines of the error log for us to help diagnose the problem.

Re: How to require login before anyone can see forums?

Hi and welcome. Yes you can do that. Go to the ACP -> Permissions -> select forum(s) -> select the Guests usergroup -> then change the permissions to Registered so only registered users can see those forums. For more info about permissions see this article: http://www.phpbb.com/support/documentation...

Re: Style banner help

All you need to do is edit styles/AcidTech/template/overall_header.html to change the center image then edit styles/AcidTech/theme/stylesheet.css (look for the logoleft and logoright CSS classes) to change the left and right background images. Or you could just make everything the same filename as t...

Re: Problems with group coloring

Did you edit index.php? If so check your edits there and make sure you didn't accidentally edit or delete the wrong line.

Re: User Statistics

Well it depends on what you want to do. If you just want to remove a field you can edit /styles/prosilver/template/memberlist_view.html If you want to add/edit/removee a custom field you need to go to the ACP then edit the custom field you added.

Re: Search Indexing/View New Posts

The "View new posts" feature works on post date and is completely separate from search indexing. And don't worry, unless you installed permission related MODs, regular members can't see your hidden forums assuming you have permissions right.

Re: Crash help.....

No all posts, users, etc. are stored in the database so this missing file won't affect that. (But it is a GOOD idea to backup your database regularly!!!) Once you upload it then the problem should be fixed.

Re: memberlist: increase members per page

Make a backup before editing!

Open memberlist.php

Find:

Code: Select all

$result = $db->sql_query_limit($sql, $config['topics_per_page'], $start);
Change $config['topics_per_page'] to whatever number you want. If you want 50 then it would look like this:

Code: Select all

$result = $db->sql_query_limit($sql, 50, $start);

Re: Font re size button

1) Can you give a link to your board?
2) The board uses cookies so you don't have to have the session ID in the URL. It only appears if cookies aren't working.

Re: Crash help.....

using your FTP program can you confirm that includes/acm/acm_file.php is there? If so, right click on it and select CHMOD/properties/file permissions (the exact menu option will vary depending on your FTP app) and CHMOD the file to 644 which should fix the problem.
