Re: Disabling the Word cesor in a particular forum

Sorry about the lack of reply, I completely forgot I didn't respond. Thanks for the link, but I don't have access to the FTP or whatever it is I would need... I was hoping there was some sort of permission or something I missed, but I guess not. Also, how did you give me a link with all those words ...

Re: who uses a 50 character password?

To remember a 39 character string, it would have to be something..well..rememberable. Like a particular order or sequence of numbers, or perhaps even a sentence. So it's probably not even that strong of a password..but rather just long. Heck, I would guess it's a basic sequence/pattern of keys, lik...

Re: Admin Activation Of Accounts

Admin activation is usually used if you have sensitive content on the forum that you don't want seen by people you don't approve of. If you just have a normal forum, User Activation is usually easier, especially after the board gets popular. Try making you email in the ACP the old one you had, and j...

Re: Question about Permissions?

You want to change his permissions without letting him know? I don't really understand what you mean. Is he in a custom group with both Moderator and Admin permissions? Or is he in two different groups, one with Moderator, and one with Administrator? I'm also not sure if you're trying to give him EX...

Re: Deep linking

I already have that BBCode, but I just realized that if I were to "Copy Link Location" of the Goto link that connects with the anchor I place in that post, it would have link me there if I were to paste it in the address bar. It never even occurred to me.

Thanks again!

Re: Deep linking

Is it possible to add anchors into a post? For instance, I have an FAQ on my forum, and people always ask me questions about how to do something on the chat that is associated with our forum. It would be really helpful to be able to just link them to that one point in the post.

Re: Deep linking

Oh nice. So I put # then the number of the post. How do I get the number of the post? Do I have to press the EDIT button every time to find it?

Re: User Permissions

Individual user permissions affect users on a per-user basis, as the name would suggest. This will only change permissions attached to that one user. You can do this on both a per-forum, and global basis. Forum Permissions are done on a per-forum basis, doing this will limit (or extend) the entire g...

Deep linking

I'm pretty sure Deep linking is the term I'm looking for, if not, I'll describe it anyway. I've noticed some people on this, and other forums linking directly to a certain post in a thread, or even just a certain part of a post, or page. Is this possible, or is it just my imagination? If so, how wou...

Re: more than one group in ADMINISTRATORS section >> [The Te

I know this isn't what you're asking for again, but it might work. I'm assuming you don't want them to have full Administrator privileges, so why don't you make them group leaders in the Administrator group, then make it so Group Leaders are exempt from permissions of the group, then set their defau...

Re: more than one group in ADMINISTRATORS section >> [The Te

...Why would you put a group that's not an Administrator in the Administrator group? Have you tried just giving said other groups Administrator permissions?

Re: more than one group in ADMINISTRATORS section >> [The Te

Actually, by the looks of the Team here, all of those team members are in the ADMINISTRATOR group, but have their default group set to different groups (MOD, Development, Support, etc.). I just tried it on my forum, and even though my default group is Moderator, my name is still in the Administrator...
