Re: Numbered Posts

That is correct, I was referring to having each post numbered. I suppose that in the great scheme of things having each post numbered is not such a big deal. It certainly isn't essential that they be numbered, the forum works great whether the posts are numbered or not. But having a number in the co...

Numbered Posts

I was thinking about adding a Mod to make the posts numbered. I have been reading up on it and it doesn't sound like it is very complicated. But I started thinking about it and I am wondering why that feature isn't part of the regular installation of phpBB, or at least have it be an option to turn i...

Re: Why Aren't "Mods" Automatic?

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. It is good to know that the creative people who do this are on top of it. I will be looking forward to the hooks system in a future update.

Why Aren't "Mods" Automatic?

I have a question, not really with phpBB exactly, but with the way phpBB "mods" work. This may be a stupid question and I hope nobody takes this the wrong way, but my question is, why aren't mods, more or less, automatic? Let me explain where I am coming from on this. A couple days ago I installed L...

Using the information found here I was able to get to my forum using ftp and then I was able to edit the config.php file and change the database password to the one that I had accidentally changed all th...

Screwed Up SQL

I have a quick question. I was messing around and I added another database and I put in a new password for the new database, or so I thought. Apparently I must have done something that changed ALL the passwords for all the databases. Now, when I try to access the forum I get an error that says Gener...

Moved a Topic, Now Have a Problem

I am using the latest version, version number 3.08, and I moved a topic to another forum. That worked just great, the topic was moved without a problem and everything is good in the forum I moved the topic to. But now I have the name of the member who started the topic appearing in the original foru...
