Re: Where's this coding at?

I tried that...I edited the content.css file, putting postbody to 100%: .postbody { padding: 0; line-height: 1.48em; color: #333333; width: 100%; clear: both; } ...and the postprofile to 1%: /* Poster profile block ----------------------------------------*/ .postprofile { /* Also see tweaks.css */ m...

Where's this coding at?

I'm modifying a prosilver installation to be more of a CMS (document server) than a forum. I'll be the only person posting articles, so I don't need a majority of the built-in features. I'm actually coming along fairly well by deleting a lot of stuff of the forum templates so that each topic page is...

Re: [19/02/07] Categories Hierarchy

I'm in the process of changing servers, going from a shared hosting setup to my own VPS. I decided that this was the time to install the CH mod. I downloaded and installed the fresh vanilla phpbb install and then CH...both went great. As I type this, I'm downloading a database backup from my current...

Re: Simple Subforums

I just try installing the Simple Subforums, and seem to be having a strange problem. After I uploaded all my edited files and attempted to access the Management section of the ACP, I get the following error: Couldn't get list of forums DEBUG MODE SQL Error : 1054 Unknown column 'forum_parent' in 'fi...

I will also attest to the effectiveness of this mod....it's been two weeks now, and my spam registration has gone from 3-4 per day to zero over the past two weeks.

Granted, it's only been a couple days since I installed the VIP code, but I haven't had a single spammer registration since. I'd never considered Tally XJ's point, about visually-impaired visitors having trouble reading it, but as is they should still have no problems. However, this specific style, ...

Just to make sure: You only need to edit the 'profile_add_body.tpl' file for the default template, even if you have multiple templates installed? Since the default template is the only one a new registrant will see, that's the only one to be concerned with, correct? I did a slight alteration to brih...

 I was doing some more research on this here and found that exact same thing out. Tried it, the update script worked as it should, and I was just coming back to do a follow-up to say so.

Thanks! I appreciate the help. :D

Thanks for the suggestion. I did try that, and got the same error message when attempting to run the update script in my browser (I'm updating from version 2.0.21 to version 2.0.22 via code changes). Maybe I'm reading these error messages wrong, but I attributed it to the new password, tell me if I'...

Site account password change affects database access?

I've got a phpBB installation on my website, and am doing the latest software updates and minor mods. However, a couple days ago I went to log in at my web host and was told my password was outdated and to update it. I wasn't allowed to use my old password, it required a new one....so I did. However...

Request: Post in a forum but not view the forum

OK, here's what I'd like to do. I run an automotive forum, and would like to start a fun "Identify This Part" forum, where I'll show a picture of some obsure auto part, and then have members post with what they think it is and what kind of vehicle it's from. However, I don't want anyone's ...

Thanks for the reply. I did do a pretty complete search of the existing mods and didn't see anything close to what I need, so I guess I'll post something in the Requests forum and see if some kind soul would be interested in trying to write up a mod like this. :D
