[Solved] Wrong theme for guests/non-logged in users

Hello ! I may have missed a setting somewhere, could I please ask for advice ? This thread is a sort of sequel to that other thread . I manage a forum that has two themes, a "cool" and an "uncool" one. Following the kind advice I received here, I determined which would be the default theme for this ...

[Solved] How to switch all members to a given theme ?

Hello, On my forum (I am the admin), there are two possible themes, and one of them has been progressively abandoned, and is now viewed as no good, while the other theme has been gradually improved, again and again. Please, could I ask you - 1 - If it is possible to mass-switch the forum members to ...

Re: Ghost threads, only the titles are left O_o

Quoting you: « There isn't a global option because there's no way to tell what is and isn't a real topic .» I was hoping the contrary, hoping that thread titles without any content (neither posts nor existing username - I eventually deleted the username too, with vague hopes it could work) to back t...

Re: Ghost threads, only the titles are left O_o

Thank you Kevin, that's a worthy start, at least I can remove these topics from the place where they most stand out :)

However, with thousands of these, would there be a more "global" solution ?

Ghost threads, only the titles are left O_o

Hello, I have a problem of "ghost threads", threads that appear as listed when we open a certain subforum, however, when we click their link, we're shown a forum's 404 page, the " The requested topic does not exist ." message. Would you know how to solve this ? I resynched all that could be resynche...

Using a phpbb forum credentials for another cms ?

Hello, I have a website, let's say this is mywebsite.net, in that website's root is a hand-made CMS, and my website has a phpbb3 forum located at mywebsite.net/forum. At the moment, the CMS at the root of the domain has its own username-password system, however it suffers from severe spam. Certainly...

Re: Wild pruning in my forums, and lots of threads gone ! :(

Haaaa, I see why I didn't find the option now, you have to do it forum by forum, selecting a group of forums won't allow to force options to the subforums ! Ooookay, only 11 forums to update one by one. Thank you again, Brf ! I also noticed the a_prune key in the phpbb3_acl_options table, using phpm...

Re: Wild pruning in my forums, and lots of threads gone ! :(

OK Brf, thanks for the reply in that regard. Now, there's also the matter of the pruning killing my board with the removal of all posts older than october 2011. Please, o, please, where can I simply and definitely DISABLE this feature ? Edit : or at least replace the default pruning duration with so...

Wild pruning in my forums, and lots of threads gone ! :(

Hello, I don't understand why, but I've seen in the admin logs that nearly everyone is pruning my forum, and - I don't know if this is the result of this or not - I discovered with a feeling of HORROR that the oldest thread on my board was dated october 2011. Goodbye to four additional years of disc...

Re: "Failed to obtain latest version information"

Hello, A late follow-up, in case somebody may find the information some day. I gave up on understanding the problem at this point, however, later on, I moved to a dedi. And, this time, no more version check problem. Previous bugged configuration : OVH Premium web hosting with included SqlPrivé datab...

Re: "Failed to obtain latest version information"

This may not be very specific as a reply, since i'm on shared hosting, but there you are, my IP is 213.186.33.18 (actually pointing to cluster007.ovh.net , the server bay hosting my website, alongside with a ton (OMG) of other websites)...

Re: "Failed to obtain latest version information"

Thank you, Noxwizard ! Now, the output becomes interesting ! I ran it, and only the phpbb line caused problems : version.phpbb.com/phpbb/30x.txt: Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to version.phpbb.com:80 (Connection timed out) in (***my hosting's local path***)/forum/test2...

Re: "Failed to obtain latest version information"

Hi again, I finally received a reply from my web host. They told me that they were ONLY blocking "listening to" fsock connexions, while "connecting to the outside" fsock connexions were allowed without restrictions. And indeed, looking at my server logs, the "out" logs succesfully displayed this for...
