Yeah, so it works as it should. You either need to use the neq operator or change the boolean value if you invert the options logic! (Plus see the post above.)

This mod works perfectly fine even with 3.0.10 RC3... If you got a BS answer on support forum, go complain there and not here.

I want them to enter their date of birth for me to have statistics of the age of users but I want them to have a choice of either showing or hiding age to other users in their profile page. Not just large, but there hardly is more crappy format for this purpose than BMP. Still do not get what this "tidy up" request is about.

Well, you simply are saving the stuff with wrong encoding in the DB... Reduce the messy code to a simple testcase and see how to fix this issue.
