Re: How to install phpbb on domain

Next you should upload the archive file to a folder in your hosting account using FTP or the cPanel File Manager. After that just Extract the archive into the folder you wish your forum to open from. No, you don't upload the archive file and extract it on the server. This may work but chances are g...

Re: Update Help with Styles

It seems that this style hasn't been validated and released in the CDB. The last version I could locate refers to phpBB 3.0.8 - with the autor's site down ... There might still be a chance to update the style manually: https://area51.phpbb.com/code-changes/3.0.8/ Refer to the code changes in subsilv...

Re: Board Announcements Extention

If you are talking about the ext not being visible in the ACP: Installation: Download and unzip the current release. Upload the extracted package in to the ext directory of your phpBB board. Navigate in the ACP to Customise -> Manage extensions. Look for Board Announcements under the Disabled Extens...

Re: different styles for each category

The code pit-PL provided does work, so what do you mean by "it's not working": "not at all" or "not the way as expected"?
If "not at all": did you recompile the stylesheet after adding the code to _custom.scss?
If "not as expected": which element(s) exactly do you want to add a border to?

Re: local phpBB

One more thing to add:
XAMPP comes in a variety of versions depending on the PHP version included - make sure to pick one with a PHP version of 5.4 or above but lower than 7 ;)

Re: different styles for each category

As I wrote before: Yes, to avoid possible future trouble you should "transfer" your stylesheet.css edits to the correct files. In case it isn't too pressing (I'm off for a few days): I'll have a look at this file over the weekend (hopefully) - in case you did all your edits there and not in one of t...

Re: different styles for each category

This is one of Arty's ( Artodia ) styles - in certain aspects they are a little "special": CSS files have been changed to Sass, a very powerful language for generating stylesheets. Style loads only 1 CSS file instead of multiple CSS files, reducing page loading speed. (see => https://www.phpbb.com/c...

Re: different styles for each category

None of the the above is necessary. When it comes to colouring the fora on the index page on a per category base it don't see a way to avoid it. Using adjusted styles for categories/fora is a different matter - there this approach is okay. ---------------------------- why all styles that are downlo...

Re: Confused

Then you're doing it wrong ... Read Mick's post on how to update again and do it exactly the way described. Plus you have to use the correct package: you need to download the one called "Full Package" - none of the other ones offered behind the remainig tabs. This is the way all my upgrades and upda...

Re: Captcha problem phpBB 3.0.7

Prosilver style.cfg => shows 3.1.10 (no typo ...!) - if correct this style won't work with phpBB 3.0.x prosilverpink (= your current style) style.cfg => shows 3.0.2 - if correct its code was created before Q&A was introduced to phpBB, so it doesn't support Q&A No wonder since none of these two styl...

Re: Captcha problem phpBB 3.0.7

Under normal circumstances switching back to prosilver to check if the problem shows there as well would be the apropriate approach. But ... What version of phpBB are you using? phpBB 3.0.7-PL1 according to CHNGELOG.html => your phpBB version should be 3.0.1 - something might have gone south during ...

Re: different styles for each category

I'll have a look at this file over the weekend (hopefully) - in case you did all your edits there and not in one of the "regular" scss files there should be a way to recontruct it, though it might be a little time consuming. definitely it will not be correct, but also works by putting your code dire...

Re: different styles for each category

A few remarks beforehand ... ;) In Arty's styles you never edit stylesheet.css because this file contains the output of the compiling process which will then be the only CSS-file loaded. As you had to notice each time you have to re-compile this file will be rebuilt from scratch, eliminating all you...
